My Husband & I stopped here for the Lunch special yesterday! It was about Noon time & they were Not super busy. We were sat quickly. We ordered. An appetizer of Brisket Nachos. It consisted of queso, sliced peices of brisket and BBQ Sauce. That was it. It didn't look very appetizing right off the bat and definitely not what I'd imagine. We tried it and we're not impressed with it at all. I would highly recommend something else. Next We ordered our entrees. My husband got the 'lunch special' Chicken Fajitas. I got the green sauce chicken enchiladas. I again was not super impressed with my enchiladas. They looked better than the app buy the sauce was not the green sauce you would normally have with enchiladas. The rice was good. The refried beans tasted canned. The enchiladas might suit someone else's taste better then mine. Now the fajitas my husband enjoyed. However it was a special which to me means you get the normal amount for a better price. It was definitely not that. It was way less food for a little less money. So, overall our meal was about $70 after a $10 tip. We're extremely underwhelmed and not super satisfied when we left and decided we most likely will not be returning. Maybe others love it but it didn't meet my standards and they are not outrageous when it comes to food. Oh and we got dirty silverware ,that had been washed but didn't get clean. The server was very sweet...
Read moreMy entree was the Salmon Diablo. I could have gone anywhere in Jackson , but friends recommended Coyote Blues to me and it was very disappointing. The ladies and male servers were friendly and gave recommendations. My entree seemed to take long to prepare and looked like it was ordered at a meat and 3 …minus the generous portions ! Look at the presentation: The caramelized sauce was overly sweet , the rice grains were hard and dry , hard to swallow, and appeared like they scraped the last portion from the pot, and the mango salsa…..all of its “generous “ tablespoon-sized portion. All this for $16 and served on a chipped and stained plate. I also didn’t realize all the fingerprints on the plate until I finished eating! The picture you see is how it was presented to my table. The crowd was there to watch the Vols win the college baseball championship and the place had a great vibe! I would have really enjoyed my experience more if my dish were palatable! Come for the games, friendly vibe, and drinks. Eat somewhere else, unless you’d prefer hand- tossed slop on your fingerprint...
Read moreAfter years of great food, today's lunch was a fail. And evidently the changes are permanent.
We ordered fajitas. The shrimp looked like it was poured straight from a supermarket bag of frozen medium sized peeled and deveined shrimp and some salt & pepper sprinkled on. I could have done better at home. Gone is the unpeeled, deveined shrimp that tasted like it was well seasoned, put on a skewer, and seared. The chicken and beef were also missing the flavor that I had come to know and expect from Coyote Blues and there were barely any vegetables with the fajitas. Also gone - the little metal cup of butter with whatever magic it contained.
Though the food was subpar, the service was superb. I honestly felt bad for the servers and the hostess who were left to explain why everything was so different since the menu didn't mention anything about recipes changing.
I will miss the excellent food I found here in the past and will hop across the street from now on where I already know the food will be mild in flavor so there are no big surprises or disappointments and it's...
