The Human Bean — Restaurant in Jackson

Very very concerned with the behind the scenes of this company. I am a semi-regular customer. I always get a poolside bright and have even tried some barista recommendations that have all been phenomenal. The service is always friendly, consistent, and prompt even in busy times. I could name a couple baristas in particular who always make my day. However, the last couple times I have been through, I have noticed that they have only 1 or 2 people on shift during busy times!!!!! The baristas are impressively still very prompt but as someone who has been in higher level management for over a decade this is highly concerning and shows a lot about how much the higher managers and schedule makers care about their employees. This concern goes along with the fact that I tried to give the employees tips around the holidays only to be told they can’t accept them??!? After some research I’ve seen a couple other comments about similar management concerns and even some reviews on Glassdoor from employees stating issues with the owners. This is not only unacceptable and illegal but it should be made known to the owners or corporate that this will KILL your business!!!! Your employees are your frontline! They are what keeps your business running! Loosing them looses you business just keep that in mind. Haven't had coffee myself in over 2 years but today I wanted a fix and the Pistachio Vanilla Latte here paired with a warm crispy everything bagel was exactly the cure for the craving. The prep was fast and the coffee blend hit the palate from every direction. Nutty foretaste with a sweet middle and a black coffee bite. It even came topped with a cute little chocolate covered Expresso bean. Kind of wish they had a few tables outside but there's a park right down the road to enjoy my lunch. I've always been a very big coffee drinker and tend to be picky when it comes to how its made, I noticed over time that I prefer local coffee places instead of places like starbucks or dunkin (There coffee is 👎🏻 and not even coffee actually) The human bean isn't a local business but they definitely feel and taste like one. I work alot and have multiple jobs so I'll go before/after or in between on my lunch breaks sometimes and they always make me smile 😊 Dan is one of the employees that I always enjoy seeing but they are all very lovely and friendly and I can 100% say I've never had a bad experience.
