My husband and I were in town visiting friends, and they suggested this restaurant because of our love for Mexican cuisine. Based on our experience, we were NOT impressed, and no star (ZERO) would be a more accurate rating. First, I will start with the menu. Their menu options were limited. My husband wanted a spicy shrimp dish, but no spicy dishes were on the menu. He asked the waiter, and he said they had no spicy options. In all our years of dining at Mexican restaurants, this was the first one that did not have any spicy menu options. So, that was the first letdown. But the ultimate disappointment was when they turned off the lights in our section. We finished eating around 8:30 pm, and we noticed we were the only guest in our section, but we didn't think much of it because they didn't close until 10 pm. So, we continued talking with our friends. And all of a sudden, lights were turned off in the back of the section where we were seated. And 5 minutes later, they were placing the chairs on top of the tables just a few feet away from our table. By now, our waiter had stopped coming over, so we asked another waiter that was sweeping in that area if they were closing early, and he said "no", we do not close until 10 pm. And at that time, it was around 9:00 pm. And even though we were the only guest in that section, that was no reason for them to turn off the lights. And around 9:15, they turned off All LIGHTS but only in our section. Needless to say, we were not loud or unruly, just simply talking and enjoying our friends. Finally, we decided to leave. And as we made our way to the front, we noticed all the other sections still had lights on, even the sections that had no guest. So I asked for the manger and before I could even speak with her, our waiter appears and says to the manager that it wasn't him. That was shocking to hear. At this point, I felt the lights had been turned off deliberately. I tried to explain what had happened to the manager, but between her non verbal response and blank facial expression, it was loud and clear how much they value customers. Not once did she apologize or even seemed concerned at the rudeness that had just taken place. This was such a DISAPPOINTMENT! There has never been a time that I have ever experienced such disgust and rudeness before as a customer. Again, such a...
Read moreThe newer location is nice, mighty nice. I am glad they brought the old cooks with them to the new location. I'll be extremely happy when they go get the good attitudes & great service out of storage. They could really use it, the only one with a smile is the bartender. He is the former "bestest" waiter from the old location. Unfortunately someone also forgot to pack up the free drink refills & bring them to the new spot also. (See pics) The building is extremely well decorated with one of a kind "eye catching" items. Bright colors, lots of room & neon lighting in just the right spots makes for a new experience everytime you get a different seat. So, much detail in the decor, matched by the best food, freshest salsa & we won't get started on the cheese dip.... nope I will not go there, just try it, you will not regret it. I gave a 4 star review solely on the fact I had traveled for years & never found a restaurant with such good food, peaceful atmosphere, or more courteous & appreciative employees. So for still maintaining 2 out of 3 of the pillars this restaurant was founded on, I gave 3 stars. I gave 1 more for the awesome water fall/artsy/type like thing in front of the restaurant. But when i saw the refills were no longer free, the rude staff & longer wait times for food. Its just not worth the trip anymore. So, I took 1 back & used it to help pay for a soda refill. They have great food, you will love the decor of the building & you will hate the service staff's attitudes, as you wait for...
Read moreI ordered take out (a group order over $50) from this location on 2/12/21, and was disappointed and offended by the service I received. There were 3 workers at the front counter, and the older woman was the one who serviced me. I was not greeted when I walked in, simply signaled to come to her. After she read my order back to me, she said the total and I gave her my card to pay. She slid the receipt to me to fill out, and as I began to fill it out, I saw her glaring at me from the corner of my eye. She stood close to me behind the counter so it was very obvious. I decided not to tip because of the hostility of her stare and the lack of enthusiastic service I received prior to payment. When I gave her the receipt back, she blurted out an offensive statement in Spanish that she thought I wouldn’t understand. The other two workers appeared a bit shocked and looked at me with embarrassment in their eyes. ALL customers deserve excellent service no matter how you personally view them, and no matter if you think they’ll tip or not. I used to be a waitress, so I understand and hold tipping in high regard. I find honor in tipping well, and I expect to do so even for take out orders. But not when I’m treated like this. I will NOT be spending my money here again. I do...
