La Cazuela Mexican — Restaurant in Jackson

This establishment deserves 0 stars!! I had a horrible experience at La Cazuela. First off the young man who was our server was very rude & short. He did not greet or introduce himself, he just placed menus down. When it was time to order I asked him “what type of steak/cut do they serve”? His response was “idk steak” with a snug look on his face like my question was dumb. I immediately requested a new server from the manager, who didn’t even care to ask why or what happened. He was then switched out with a young lady who was nicer. The young man came back behind the bar & served 2 other Mexicans drinks to go! A older man next to me asked for a drink to go as well (since we all saw them serve 2 other guys drinks to go) the young man said “no we don’t do drinks to go”. The older man said I just watched you serve those men drinks to go. The young man said verbatim “ they are the owners & they can do that bc they own the place” the young man (server) & the older man proceeded to go back and forth & things got heated! I stepped in on the older mans behalf because I didn’t like the way he was getting spoken to by the server. I stated “ that was not right, & if they are the owners they should be getting liquor to go in the back office, not in the front where customers can see” the server then said back to me “get your own restaurant & then you can do what you want there”. There was a heated exchange they ended up kicking us all out & calling the police!!! Very unprofessional young entitled people who claim they are owners! They have NO respect for black people!! Before my most recent dining experience, I would have given this restaurant 3 or 4 stars. My mother and I went to have lunch and the service was surprisingly awful. We first were seated outside upon request, but there was bird poop on multiple seats so my mom asked for us to be seated inside. The first waiter had an attitude, but seated us inside. While outside we asked for margaritas, the first waiter told us the margaritas weren't frozen, we told him no problem and asked for two waters please. Never received the waters. When were seated inside, we sat there for almost 10 minutes and had to flag the second waiter down to take our order. My mom told him no one had taken our order and the guy rudely interrupted saying "yeah yeah I know he told me you all wanted margaritas". My mom explained that wasn't an issue, but we have not ordered, he said rudely and hurrily, yeah yeah okay what do you want? After our order was taken he came back with a margarita pitcher. We thought the pitcher was given to us bc it took a while for the margaritas, but when we got the ticket the waiter charged us for the pitcher. We spoke with the manager and explained we asked the first waiter for one peach and one lime margarita, she took the pitcher and two cups away, which in our opinion was rude and cheap, the best thing to do was to apologize and remove the $17.99 pitcher from the ticket. Update 4 days after this visit: My toddler is now sick and I’m very certain it was from this place.

We have been on the road 8 hours and just wanted something good to eat. This restaurant was .5 miles from our Air BNB. We thought why not. The staff were not inviting. A bunch were sitting at a table chatting. We were told to find a table outside. We have a child so we thought it would be great for her. Little did we know they allow cigarette smoking at this establishment. We were not happy and asked to be moved inside only to be met with attitude from our server. Our server also got our two orders wrong. I asked for an unsweetened tea due to medical reasons and received a sweet tea. Not sure where her head was but it was not at work. We ordered fajitas with scallops and shrimp. The scallops were pre frozen and chewy. The shrimp was not seasoned. The steak was over cooked and not marinated. The chicken was great and vegetables also. Beans and rice have absolutely no flavor. Pico was tasteless and the salsa was watered down marinara. Our daughter did not even touch her chicken tenders as they were hard and over cooked.

The tables were not clean. The menus were not clean. They had chips stuck to them. There was a shrimp and unknown food particle on the floor and a few napkins. The tables...
