Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Jackson

I got hired here a few days ago and went to orientation and had my first day two days ago. I was nice and kind and kept a smile on my face and did as I was told. I worked from 10:30-3:00 and right at 3:00 they basically kicked me out the door. The manager was supposed to order me some slip resistant shoes but didn’t even ask me what size shoe I wear..? Then nobody ever gave me a schedule? I feel like they had no idea what they were doing when it came to hiring new staff and training. I called in today to see when they wanted me to work again and the manager said he thought someone else had given me a schedule??? Also as I was leaving from my first day a fellow employee threw her drink at my car. I’ve never felt so belittled and bullied on my first day at a job. I don’t recommend coming to work here. The guy who trained me was absolutely wonderful I can’t say enough nice things about him but other than that it was miserable. I love Newk’s food and I’d probably eat at other locations but as for working here I wouldn’t because they don’t know what...

The food is prepared well. However, I've noticed if you order via curbside, you will be waiting a lengthy time on someone to bring it out to you. Kinda defeats the purpose of ordering curbside when you eventually have to go on the inside and get it yourself. I even noticed the person next to me had to go inside to get her food. This is after you have already tipped them on the app. It's actually pretty frustrating. When I called (they took forever to pick up btw) and asked about the status of my order, a young lady picked up and told me that I'd just have to come in. My ankle is sprained. That was the entire purpose of me ordering through curbside. She said she'd have someone to come out then hung up in my face. Won't be returning to this location. The picture on the menu wall of the Mediterranean pizza looked great so that's what I got today in lieu of my standard roast beef sandwich... Opened the box at home only to discover pieces of chicken that were twice the size of a bite, with dried edges, and the entire center of the pizza had NO crust under it! Really, just some cheese stuck on top of the paper. The olives were truly good, but no other taste in the pizza. Now, they MUST do something about the broccoli and cheese soup, never saw anything green and resembling broccoli, nor the color of cheese, just an unappetizing mush in a cup. Did find some some artichoke leaves (inedible), but no discernible broccoli. So please, will the Quality Control Manager please return?
