I'm sitting in the McDonald's on Michigan Ave enjoying some Chicken McNuggets. Why didn't I just come here first instead of going to Taco Bell? Because I usually like Taco Bell better. But today I happened to visit this particular Taco Bell (first time at this location in months...) and wish I hadn't. I went inside and there wasn't anyone in line ahead of me. Two people had already placed their order. My order was taken politely and efficiently, no problem with that. It came to $4.12 and when I paid with my credit card I was asked if I wanted to round up my purchase to $5.00 for charity. Sure. Paid for my food and got my drink and sauces and picked a table to sit at. After about 5 minutes I kinda walked up to the counter to see why it was taking so long. Two cars and gone through the drive thru and already rexeiced their food and I didn't have mine nor did one person who had placed his order before me. I stood there for only a couple of minutes and was absolutely appalled by what I was watching. One employee (jokingly) chastised a female employee who had been outside (smoking?) by saying he had been "busting his ass“ while she was outside. News flash. He wasn't. In addition there was approximately 6 employees in the kitchen area and only one was doing anything. Suddenly someone's phone went off like a fire alarm and the one who was working stopped as it was presumably his phone. He took his latex gloves off and checked his phone. Everyone gathered around and chit chatted for another minute or so. That's when I asked for a refund. The gentleman behind the counter got a manager and he fumbled with the cash register for a minute trying to process my refund. Never asked me why? Meanwhile a young lady came in apparently for a job interview. She asked for a specific person and was told (by the person who was supposed to be making my food) that the manager wasn't in today, but nobody knew why. Well, e eryine in the kitchen area suddenly felt the need to be a part of this discussion as they all gathered around and listen to the conversation. Meanwhile I was still waiting doe my refund. It took a couple more minutes and finally the gentleman handed me $4.76. Cash. I paid with a credit card and received cash as a refund. I've never seen that happen before. I walked out and vowed that I will never return to this location. To top it off, the person who had already ordered prior to my arrival still didn't have his food. If corporate Taco Bell were to visit this location I'm sure they would close it. Probably the same is true if the health department stopped in. I'm inky giving them one star because there isn't an option for zero stars. And even that would...
Read moreThese star ratings are entirely based upon the staff that is working at the time you decide to dine at this establishment. Sadly there is only one set of employees I would give 5 stars to and I haven't seen those particular 5 people in a few months so I don't even know that that set of employees even work there any longer. Every other set of employees I have found to be unnecessarily rude, possessing some of the worst customer service skills I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. They close their lobby at whatever time they feel suits them, regardless of time of day. I've been denied service as early as 2 in the afternoon. I've been denied drive through service at 6pm while having been given no reason for the denial. Whenever they decide to close the lobby, they serve no one that walks into the store, allowing only door dashers to enter. When you are lucky enough to be allowed in you often end up waiting 15 to 45 minutes for just 2 burritos even when the drive through line consists of less than 3 patrons and no one else is inside. The food is always cold when I get it, and is never made the same way twice. More often than not being on the verge of inedible. Several times I have received my food, opened the bag only to find my food falling out of both wrappers l, basically just sitting in the bottom of the bag unwrapped. I've witnessed one of the managers drop my food on the ground and then try to put it in the bag and continue to serve it to me. Upon entering one day an employee immediately made an inappropriate comment on my shorts and leg hair. After messing up my order I went back to the counter to make them aware of the situation. The same employee looked at me and said "what could you possibly want now." This was not playful banter with a friend or acquaintance. I had never met this man before and he was genuinely causing issues from the moment I walked in. The reason for this treatment I can only speculate at. I gave the workers the benefit of the doubt several times but finally it became too much too often and was getting too ridiculous to ignore, so I got a hold of corporate. They said someone with higher authority would call me back to interview me about my experiences and get the full story. I never received that call. This is not only the worst taco bell I have ever been to, it is absolutely and unequivocally the worst restaurant, fast food or otherwise I have ever experienced. I would avoid at all costs...
Read morelWas very dissatisfied with everything about this visit. :/ We chose to dine inside around 9 p.m. on a weekday. We had an extremely long wait just to place our first order. As in 17 minutes long. There was two customers ahead of us needing to order and one waiting for her order to be made. The drive through seemed fairly busy. They weren't "on their toes" this evening. We had cold food, missing food, and food made wrong. Another long wait to get correct food ended in receiving smashed cinna-twists, almost burnt caramel apple empanadas, (x3) and a 12 pack of very cold almost frozen in the center cinnabon delights. This was all VERY FRUSTRATING to say the least. We received the wrong flavor frozen slushie drink, and gave up on trying for the correct one. The main meal items were good, warm and seemed correct, except for the 2 beefy Fritos burritos. Neither had nacho cheese sauce on them. Just seasoned rice, a few fritos and meat. The soda pop machine worked great and so did the water selection on it. The ice came out well and no problems there. The seating area and tables were fairly clean looking. Floors not to bad either. The condiment station was stocked full and in good working order for napkins, spoons, sauces etc. The lady at the counter who took our order seemed to be engaged with a larger group she personally knew, whom walked in shortly after my family. This took time away from guests waiting to be helped at the counter. However we found out where or correct slushie went to! She gave a freebie to her "friends" and let us know where the mistake happened. Yet never corrected it for us. All in all I would have to say that this visit to Taco Bell was the absolute worst I've experienced at any...
