Update: We finally came back. Sat outside with our pup, a lovely shaded spot. Everything was exactly as delicious as before. We stuck to the spicy watermelon margs, a couple of tacos, and we tried the nachos. Oh. My. Gosh! No lie, the best nachos either of us have ever had; unbelievably perfect flavor. Special thanks to Belquin, our wonderful waitress. Thank you for an excellent meal! Also, even after they’ve adjusted prices since 8 months ago, it was still under $50 for the two of us at happy hour (before tip.)
O.M.G. If I could give them 6 stars I would--no 10! Wait--11! Infinite stars!! Where to start: ok, we went for happy hour, had 5 different drinks between us, queso, the taquitos, and two tacos--the gringo with beef, and the asada (steak.) Besides only wracking up a bill under $50 (before tip,) everything was absolutely delicious. Like, amazing, can't wait to go back! Don't get me wrong, it's nice and casual, basic Mexican taco flavors, nothing fancy. But when the simple things are done perfectly there's something magical. I'm not ever big on steak, it's too chewy to me. The asada taco had the most tender steak I've ever ever tasted--filet minion level of tender--and nicely seasoned. The gringo taco, with beef, I would describe as classic taco bell for sober adults, lol. It was so real and complete, just really hit the spot. The queso was some of the best I've ever had. Salsa and chips were perfect. And the taquitos, which I expected to be finger food, were so flaky and full that eating them with a fork was a pleasure. Finally, the margs! I had the spicy watermelon first, very nice, will balanced. Second the jalapeño, a bit sweeter, also very good. Last, the skinny marg, I really liked it, less sweet and more sour in comparison. My bf had the house marg, which we both liked, and second a house gin and tonic. I'm picky about tonic and find fewer and fewer places with, frankly, drinkable tonic, and this was prefect. From the gun, not a bottle, but really good flavor.
The decor is very colorful and eclectic, but also pays homage to its roots. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had a really great time. This area needed a solid Mexican restaurant for locals with amazing food, I think...
Read moreWe grabbed dinner at this restaurant because it was immediately adjacent to the hotel at which we were staying. And I’m so glad we did. Atmosphere was clean bright with an authentic flare to it. Food was top quality, with a wide variety of options ranging from Mexican street food to top and entrées and everything in between. Servers were exceptionally attentive. We originally had a group of 10 that they had set us for and we added four more and the staff didn’t blink, and made accommodations for us quickly. Food quality was exceptional, with great flavor. I would especially recommend the chimichangas with steak. Meat was tender and flavorful and quantities were large without being over the top. I would definitely wanna call out our server, Jessika, who managed all 14 of us without any issues. She routinely stopped by to check on us, but was not intrusive, striking that perfect balance that allowed us as a family to talk and visit while at the same time, refreshing drinks, ordering dessert, etc.
I am a big dessert fan, and the flan was exceptional. Not your standard plain custard. Heads up on the churros, though, you will get an order of several in a cart that includes all the dipping sauces. Probably one order is enough for two people to share.
The restaurant did not take reservations, however, when I called, they let me know the best time to come in for a large group and let me know that if I showed up 15 minutes before the time I wanted to have dinner, they would work with me to ensure that seating was arranged.
Overall, an...
Read moreCame the night of 6/7 wasn’t super crowded yet. Walked in to a nice place the decor was interesting almost reminded me of the movie ‘Coco’ but nonetheless the atmosphere fit. We were sat down but the nice hostess and our waitress Ana came over (I believe was her name) and gave us chips and recommended a few drinks. That being said let me start with the chips. I feel like a few taco places around here are afraid to add some salt or anything to their chips. Not this place a little salt with some hints of lime o-m-g a wedded bliss. Thank you so much 1810 for doing this. We also got a side of queso and that stuff was amazing. The wife and I shared the 1810 Fajita which consisted of “Grilled chicken, shrimp, chorizo, and grilled steak with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. Served with Mexican rice, black refried beans, side salad and tortillas.” We wanted to try a little bit everything and boy oh boy we were not disappointed. So many flavors and the flame char on the peppers were on point. The shrimp tasted great, the steak super flavored and was cooked to perfection. The chicken was the same way beautifully done. The chorizo (I am not big on) but was also very tasteful and didn’t disappoint. On the way out we asked the waiter for a container for the queso and chips. She ended up giving us a container for the queso and bag of fresh chips. They didn’t make it the night once we got home. If you are looking for a nice sit down Mexican place then this is it for you. Would definitely...
