LongHorn Steakhouse — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

Far, far, far better than the Longhorn over on Southside. They're enough better that we've actually driven past the Southside location and gone the extra 15 miles to go here.

This appears to be either a newer facility or a remodeled location - either that or they're simply that good at their maintenance. We've been here twice and been pleased each time - the service is good, the food is prepared right, and the staff is friendly. They even make the "Texas 'Taters" right, which some locations don't since they're not officially on the menu anymore and the staff has forgotten how. But some of the folks here have been with the company for a very long time and make them just like they did when they were on the menu.

The last time we went, we were early - about 4:00 on a weekday - and they'd staffed about right for that time of day on a normal day (i.e. fairly light staff with folks not scheduled to come in until later). On this day, however, they had a rush about 4:30 and filled up the entire bottom half of the restaurant and were placing people in the elevated area as well. While they weren't staffed for it, they still did an excellent job of making sure that everyone was seated, waited on, and had their food in a reasonable time. So they work hard as well.

So if you're looking for a decent steak at a mid-priced steak place, this is as good as I've found anywhere in Jacksonville...

The hostess sat me down at a booth and no waiter came to check on me to offer me a drink. I came in 2 min after 3:00 and it was 11 min after 3:00 until a waiter took my drink order, and my food order. When the waitress brought me my food, it looked amazing (as usual). But only to find that my mashed potato’s tasted as if they were re-heated (very soupy) with microwaved crust from the re heated potatoes on the top and my broccoli was very very cold too. So disappointed. So that sums up my lunch for today. I was very disappointed in the service I received today. Because I am a regular customer who always tips 20% or more no matter if my service is very good or very bad. I did tell my waitress how I felt about my lunch (in a kind way) and she did not have a manager come to check on me. So not only was my food awful, but the service was as well. The service is usually very good there. Not sure what happened today? It’a All good and my waitress still got a 20% tip anyway. Sorry for the bad review. But my expensive lunch...

My name is Patrick I am a commercial truck driver. I run coast-to-coast and sometimes I have to park my transport in places to deliver my cars and I provide a very special service. Sometimes not knowing the area I’ll make a mistake and go into a parking lot that I should probably not go into and get myself into a little bit of a pickle. This Longhorn steakhouse Employees and the manager went above and beyond the call of duty tonight and assisted me in getting out of this parking lot right next door by inconveniencing his employees and having to move their cars that were parked on this parking lot so that I could maneuver out of this parking lot. Normally me and my wife eat at the Longhorn steakhouse And their food is far better than any other steakhouse I’ve been to in my journeys across the country. I want to say thank you today is Monday, April 24 at about 7:30 PM.
