Dick Mondell's Burgers & Fries — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

A Friday night new try! I made it 40 mins before close. I thought they might be open until 10 on Fri or Sat nights but it is 9pm.

The names for some of these menu items y’all; I was laughing like an immature teenager. Very entertaining. This fast food, order at the window counter was perfect timing for my busy night. I ordered the “Big Dick” Burger and small fry. Essentially a double cheeseburger. The food came out pretty fast! They take your name up front, and call your name when the food is ready. I sat outside at one of their tables on the covered patio which was very clean. The “Dicks Sauce” was perfect for the fries. I asked what it was made of and they said ketchup, pickle juice, and a few other things - good!

The only reason I took off one star is for the prices, and my burger being just a smidge dry. But again; I did go during their last open hour. That’s on me. I would totally try again and come earlier. I did think the burger and ingredients had great flavor, and the thick sliced pickles were very good! You get a hefty portion for the $10 burger, I couldn’t finish mine. So it is pricey for fast food, but the quality is there.

Have been wanting to try this burger spot since it opened and am elated about adding this place to good burger joints! The Big Dck Burger is extremely filling, with juicy, perfect meat for the double patties. You can add-on bacon and cheese (American or pepperjack), as well as pickled jalapeños. They have free add-ons like lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard. So, you can craft a hefty burger here for sure! Their sauce is VERY good (definitely leave it on the burger) and can be purchased as a side for 38 cents. The burgers were definitely a smashing success with my bestie and I. Her junior dck burger was still very filling. Neither of us ate much for the rest of the day! The fries were hot, well-salted, and overall, pretty good, nothing too wow on that side. But, the milkshake had a great flavor, consistency, and creamy chocolate goodness that would make me get a milkshake on the next visit. They also have other flavors like vanilla and orange creamsicle.

The service was fast. We went 1pm on a Saturday and didn't wait more than 5 minutes for our food to be freshly served to us at the window. The cashiers we had were so friendly, polite, and helpful, so keep up the good work, guys!

There is outdoor seating, at least 12 tables ranging in size, 2-top, 3, 4, 6. You get it. There was plenty of seating when we went and it was a gorgeous day!

I had read an article about this place a few months ago and it made me want to eat here. Beautiful building. I believe there was a car wash on this property previously but this restaurant will give you the 50's feel. There is no inside seating but the outside tables had share and there was a great breeze today. A few of the menu items do have comical names so watch your teen/preteen boys because we are going to laugh. Reina was our server. She was very friendly and was able to answer several questions before we made our decisions. I ordered the "Original Big Dick"(double patties) andy wife ordered the "Junior Dick"( single patty). We shared a large fry which was plenty. We did get a side of Dick's sauce on the side. The description I got may or may not be right. Consider it as ketchup mixed with pickle juice.
