Cajun Crab Juicy Seafood & Bar — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Recently came to Jax from Texas to visit my mother who just lost her mother last Sunday. I brought her here the next day to try & bring her some joy & peace, and she absolutely loved it. We both love seafood, & this was a time where we could bond & reminisce on memories with my grandmother! We were greeted by the host Melodee with a big smile, & then Star was our server. Star embodied her name, & was such an angel & provided us with that BEST experience. She was so patient with my mother’s super extra & specific request, she had amazing energy, & checked in on us throughout our entire meal to make sure we had everything we needed.

The manager Ralph also stopped by our table throughout our lunch to ensure everything tasted good, & our experience was going well. He was so pleasant & had a great conversation with my mom that brought her great joy. His passion for working here was just shining bright like a light and you could just feel that he was genuinely fueled by making sure every customer enjoyed their experience eating there.

The bartender Kayla made my mother the best margarita, & she couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was (one of the best she’s ever had in her words)!

Overall, I wanted to leave this review to express my gratitude for all of these amazing souls that played a part in making sure my mother got to grieve her mother in a peaceful place for a few moments. You never know who’s visiting when they come in to sit down & what they’re going through.

Not only was the flavor and food exceptional (you can’t get that type of boil in Texas) but most importantly the quality in their service and attitude is beyond exceptional. 100/10 & will be back every time I visit. Not just because of the food, but because the Cajun Crab staff treats folks that visit like they truly value them and appreciate them for choosing them out of all the other options in the area. Food was amazing, BUT the service was severely lacking. Our server was most likely high, took forever to get anything (took 30mins to get our check at the end and she even had to remake sure how we were paying) many times throughout the meal time we would ask for things and it would take 10+mins and/or she had forgot. I had a literal nat in my drink (that came when we were all done eating and we're ready to pay and leave) and when I brought it to the waitress she handed it off to someone else and it took 10mins for a new one. I did speak to the manager and let her know of the issues and she said she would come talk to us at our table but then completely avoided us after she saw our waitress and went directly to her. The manager never tried to fix the situation or "make things better" then after she had talked to the waitress it was obvious they just wanted us out of the restaurant. Our waitress just brought the checks, no words and no discount or at least the nat drink off the receipt, and then pick them up and left us to just leave feeling completely disappointed and upset. The beginning of the meal was amazing then halfway through everything went wrong. Also the Starburst and Sex on the Beach drink are completely the same and look the same, barely any flavor to the drink. Yup, legit.

A legit seafood boil spot guaranteed to tear your guts up! Excellent flavor. Combined the garlic butter with the house orginal Cajun seasoning to our boil. Crab was great. Green mussels were not my favorite but still good. The lobster tail was cut in half and a pain in the butt to deshell, but once separated, they were amazing bites of goodness. The shrimp had to be deshelled as well. They are cut down the back and deveined, but the shell is still on. I wish they had everything a little more cleaned up for sure. I love going to these places and being able to order a 1/2lb of crawfish tails that are already deshelled. With all that said, the food was still absolutely incredible. The potatoes and corn add to the final product. I forgot to add hard build eggs! Don't make the same mistake!

We also ordered the Cajun fried rice, and we're glad we did. This is very similar to Chinese fried rice, except it's more "wet" as it seems to be fried up in their same flavoring they use on tbier boils. It also came with this mayonnaise based sauce that completely changed the flavor profile of the rice in all the best ways. Really good!

Also had a cocktail, and it was amazing and brought out quickly. Very nicely done!

Waitress and manager were awesome and had a few good laughs while we're eating and covered in seafood boil, lol
