11/4/20121 We recently purchased our retirement dream home in St. Augustine, Florida and because “this is our last hurrah” we want to kick-back in luxury and enjoy retirement to its fullest. As a result we needed professional interior decorating advice and wanted high quality furnishings. For that reason it was important to find a quality furniture company who stands solidly behind their product while providing consistent customer service and support.

From our first encounter with Havertys' and the staff at the Atlantic Blvd store in Jacksonville, Florida – we believe we found exactly what we needed to outfit our entire home. Right from the start we were treated with a level of professionalism without undue pressure or manipulation, without being pushed in any direction. Their advice appeared impartial with suggestions not to buy certain pieces which would either clutter our space or were not compatible with design objectives.

Of most importance was the staff: Sales Manager John Barie was affable, knowledgeable, extremely low pressure and provided honest suggestions in helping us design our spaces. Design Consultant Jennifer Walterick, an award winning interior designer, came to our home to measure and get a feel for our space and our desire to incorporate some heirloom pieces we wanted to keep and blend with the newer furniture. She drew layout sketches and made truly helpful recommendations in deciding how to complete the various rooms. Her feedback was truly instrumental in realizing and reaching our goals. And last but not least, Sales Consultant Greg Tucker was on hand to assist us in some of our final purchases with the same knowledgeable but relaxed air of professionalism.

I can’t say enough how happy we are with Haverty’s entire process from first walking through the door to delivery and setup.

Our salesperson Jennifer was Absolutely Amazing!!! She welcomed my husband and I as soon as we walked in yet didn't make us feel crowded and try to sell us on anything like some places as soon as you walk in. She was genuinely more interested in what we wanted as well as what our needs were than merely selling us something. We spent almost 2 hrs with her asking question after question and ended up walking out purchasing 2 sofas with their gold care protection plan, and an area rug all with delivery for an extremely fair price. We feel like we made a wonderful purchase. We had visited 5 other furniture stores prior to Haverty's. We would like to give a special thank you to the Manager Johnathan as well for helping us out with the over price on our purchase. We can't wait to go back and work with their designer Jennifer on selecting some other items to add to our living room set.

After checking out several furniture stores, Havertys was hands-down the winner. I went to Ethan Allen first — nice pieces, but for the price and style, it just didn’t wow me. Plus, the long wait times since so much is made in Vermont were a dealbreaker. Ashley’s? Forget about it — total disappointment. BAER’s had some unique items, but when it came to full bedroom sets, there wasn’t much that fit what we wanted.

Then we came to Havertys, and what a difference! Beautiful furniture, great selection, and reasonable prices. Big shoutout to Kate M., our sales associate — she was fantastic. Professional, knowledgeable, and best of all, she let us browse at our own pace without hovering. I can’t stand pushy salespeople, and Kate totally got that. Once we were ready with questions, she was right there to help.

Overall, a great shopping experience from start to finish. If you’re furniture shopping, skip the others and head to Havertys — you’ll see the difference. Only negative is they only deliver to my area on Wednesday’s only like 45 minutes away. Looking forward to the new...
