CAVA — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I don't usually review chains because if you know what a chain is you know what to expect at most of their non-special locations, but I've had lots of good experiences at Cava and in particular, this location.

As far as chains go, for a "fast casual" restaurant (see 5-guys and similar), I actually like Cava as one of my reliables. It is price about the same as those other places but I've never really had anything bad here. Everything is always fresh. The food: Great tasting, good amount of spices, fresh, but there's only a few options in terms of dishes being just bowls and pitas, which is the only really bad thing i can say about the food. I normally get the pita with the harissa chicken, tzatziki and harissa spreads, the super greens as a base, roasted corn, tomatoes and onion topped with a harissa vinaigrette. It has the right amount of kick bursting with flavor. It's not too spicy and the spice is actually adding to the flavor instead of being spicy just to be spicy and the pita is nice, fresh and fluffy.

One of the huge bonus points for Cava is their large drink selection. From 5-6 in house specialty lemonades/fruit drinks to Maine Root Fountain sodas (I got a mexican cola....fantastic).

My service has always been good here. Haily and the crew have done a fantastic job and I've never been short stocked like a certain burrito place.

Gets dinged for atmosphere, but it's fast casual. The bar isn't too high and I get my food to go.
