Checkers — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Normally don't eat at checkers due to trying to eat more healthy, but on 4/20/18, was hungry and wanted some fish so I stopped by Checkers off of Lem Turner & Edgewood. Have been here before just for their fish sandwich and it was just o.k., this day I ordered their deep sea double fish sandwiches and asked that they be feshly cooked without lettuce, cheese & with extra tartar sauce. I was asked to park since I wanted them fresh. 5 minutes later a guy comes to my truck with my sandwiches and before He could even make it back in the building, I blew my horn and he returned. The sandwiches were Luke warm and hardly had NO tartar sauce on them. He took them back and said he was sorry and said he would go cook them himself and make it right. Yea right? I waited another 3 to 5 minutes and sure enough, this guy was on his job. I opened my sandwiches and they were hot, fresh and oozing with tartar sauce as I requested. I don't re-call the name of this guy but he was Caucasian, very thin and very concerned about me being satisfied about two little old fish sandwiches. He spoke very professional and did what he promised after the first black guy who took my order failed his job miserably. It's just not hard to get fresh, hot with extra tarter sauce wrong! 5 stars for the Caucasian guy and -1 star for the black guy. The line took so long we were in the drive way every bit of 30 minutes. Then when we finally got our food it was so nasty. We ordered... 2 #3 combos (the baconzilla) medium with cherry coke no ice (1) 6 piece cheese stick (2) funnel cakes fries and a strawberry milkshake. What we got was 2 cold burgers, those burgers came with a burger set up when they never have before, the cheese sticks were cooked too long or old or something, all the cheese wasn't in them and they were hard, the fries for the combo were stale and old, the funnel cake fries were ok and the cherry coke had ice. I tried to call the store to complain no one answered, then I went back up there and the women refused to fix the order. I told her I didn't want my money back I just wanted fresh food and she still refused. She didn't give me a receipt when she handed me my change so it made things a little more complicated... I used to eat at checkers a lot and enjoy it almost every time... But now that I'm over here on the northside I'm starting to think krystal's would be a better route...

I ordered my wife a chicken sandwich from this place on June 20th, 2020 at 11pm. They slapped half a chicken patty on the Mother Cruncher chicken sandwich and it was overcooked and rubbery. I went up there to get an exchange the next evening. They said they don't do exchanges on the next day. You have to come back on the same day to get a exchange. When did this rile come into effect? I've never had a problem before conceenong exchanges when my order was wrong. I explained to them that it was 11pm when i ordered and it was too late to go back up there. I had asked to speak to a manager and they said the manager was busy. I told them I would wait. The children that were working there apparently thought it was funny. There seemed to be an adult that came up to the front on the inside of the building that seemed older but she looked at us and acted aa if we weren't there. We continued to wait a total of 30 minutes and still no manager. There seems to be a lot of playing going on up there and no adult...
