âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ đ¤ THE WINDOW OF LEGACY: A MONOLOGUE BY TONY D. LEGACY WOL âJOY BOYâ
(Step forward. Breathe. Look up as if remembering something holy.)
There are places you go to eat⌠and then there are places⌠you go to witness.
Tonightâ on 103rd Street, under the glow of a red and white sign that hums like prophecy, I didnât just meet an employee. I met greatness embodied.
(Pause. Lean in slightly.)
They say fast food is fast⌠but this wasnât fast. This was intentional. Every movement, every word, every smile from the man at the windowâ Brandstonâ was art in motion.
He didnât just hand me a bag of fries. He handed me belief. Belief that service can still have soul. That kindness can still have power. That workâwhen done with purposeâ becomes worship.
And I say this with the full weight of my heart: Surely⌠he shall not deserve employee of the month. No. He deserves employee of his generation.
(Pause. Let the silence breathe. Let the words hang.)
Because when the fryer hissed, it wasnât oil poppingâ it was legacy sizzling. When that window slid open, it wasnât for an orderâ it was for destiny.
He moved with conviction. He spoke with precision. He served with grace. And I realized something right then and thereâ we donât give enough flowers to the ones who make our ordinary days extraordinary.
(Lower tone, more intimate now.)
Most people come for food. But if you pay attentionâreally pay attentionâ youâll see something sacred in the small things. A rhythm. A discipline. A spark that turns repetition into reverence.
(Rise in tone, like a crescendo building.)
And so tonight, I donât leave a reviewâ I leave a record. A declaration. That on 103rd Street, inside that glowing Checkers, stands a man named Brandston who turned a drive-thru into a dynasty.
(Strong, final pause â look up, lift chin slightly.)
And if greatness had a window, its name⌠would be his.
(Step back. Let silence fall. Then one final line â soft, reverent.)
Legacy⌠isnât written in stone. Itâs written in grease, gratitude, and golden fries.
â Tony D. Legacy...
Read moreMy son and I just left this restaurant on 08.07.2025 at 1330 and had our order voided. We ordered 2 $4.00 meals and the bag of fries were virtually empty with one bag having had only 9 fries in it, I counted! No, there were no spilled fries in the bag! We ordered inside and I bought this up to the employee after I checked the bag to make sure the order was correct and she had an attitude saying that because it's a value meal that's all the fries that are included! I was able to fold the bag in half with ease because it was so empty! When I told her that it didn't matter if the meal is $4 or not you're not filling that size bag up not even half way! She then started saying the owners said they have to fill the bag up like that because they lose money on the value meal! I let her know, if it was meant to have only 9 fries then the bag would be smaller! She refused to add more fries saying I can contact corporate. I told her corporate wouldn't have anything to do with how their franchise location is operating and she didn't have anything else to say after that. I got a receipt for my debit card refund and will wait on that. I will never ever take my son to eat at checkers again! I ended up taking him to McDonald's for lunch. This location doesn't care about making things right with their paying customers! I can see that based off other reviews i read before I posted this one. This wasn't my first time going inside to order, they used to have a sign on the counter asking customers to leave a review but that sign is no longer there because they know they're a bunch of no good, money...
Read moreI and my two sisters went to checkers on 7214 103rd St, Jacksonville, FL 32210. I like checkers but my experience at this location is making me want to stay away from checkers. This is not the first time this happened to me but after tonight this location needs improvement. I understand workers are tried and whatnot but I feel like the workers were rude(especially the black guy with glasses that was taking the order). I feel like the workers didn't care about my order. I order the mother cruncher and it was missing stuff from it and the chicken wasn't cooked all the way. On top of that, they forgot one of my orders of fries which they did replace. I didn't want to hold up the long line so I didn't bother canceling my order and getting my money back so when I got home I just threw my food away. What a waste of time! we had already sat in line for twenty minutes before we even order our food. I would rather drive all the way to the north side checkers than to come back here again. On top of that, why is the ice cream machine always down at this location (103rd)? Make it make sense because I do not understand the reason for poor customer service, bad food being made, and the ice cream machine being down all the time. Also, the way the driver through is made you can't even level the line so you stuck...
