Fat Mamaz — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Their food is mediocre at best and their customer service needs real improvement. Every time I come to this place I never get the same treatment, sometimes I’m greeted with a hello and a smile and other times not as friendly. Today, I came in approximately 40 minutes before they closed which I think is enough time. The cashier looked like she didn’t want to be there and when I walked up to the counter she gave me a very brief smile and just stared at me, she didn’t say anything, so then I just started placing my order before I could get a few sentences in she interrupted me and said “we’re closed” and I followed with “oh I’m sorry I didn’t know you were closed” then realizing that they close at 3pm, I asked the cashier “I thought you close at 3pm” and she immediately looked at her coworker because she didn’t know what to say. I was expecting some sort of response but nothing was said until I was halfway through the door and a man from the back asked what I needed and followed that with “we’re out of grits.” I told the man I didn’t want grits I actually came for a burger but it was fine and left. The entire interaction was very odd to me and now I don’t think I’ll be going back because of it. I think this place has a lot of potential but overall needs some work...

I was at the location on the 12th of April at 10:06 am place order brunch burger she ask how do you want that cook i replied medium on meat egg over medium and bacon cook soft i have a receipt that states the same first employee i spoke with i carefully explain she put me on hold and i waited and waited and was hung up on I called back and employee number 2 answer phone in a very unpleasant way ask me what do i want her to do after that tone i ask to speak with the MGR employee number 3 came to phone after speaking with her she agreed to replace food or refund that order. I am asking What happen to good customer service the order came up to 55.81 and left a 15% tip WOW WHY do we continue to spend money at a location that treat you with no respect bye the way this the third time this happen and i keep going back. The broken up tiny lot and condition of the building should have sent me packing. This was my first visit and I decided to try the food anyway. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The dining area was dark due to the paint color and the flooring was greasy and slippery. The smell was unusual, probably due to the air freshners. I order the salmon croquettes platter with eggs, toast, grits and a side of pancakes. The eggs were overcooked (hence, very brown and rubbery), I couldn't determine what they were cooked in. The salmon croquettes were tasty but the oil they were cooked in wasn't. The toast was buttered with a greasy substance. The grits had cheese on top of it and was the only item I ate. The oil the pancakes were cooked in was awful and I tossed them. $18 for grits and...
