Really disappointed. My wife and I really wanted some Mexican food and saw the reviews for this place. Which lead us to drive from my Brother's place in Middleburg to here (15 miles). Just to be greeted the worst way possible, Hostess on the phone while asking us how many, walking us to our table and placing our menus down, and walked away. We reviewed the menus for what seemed like 10-15 min but was probably 5 min realistically. But in that time period not one person approached us for drinks, let us know that someone will be over etc. We continued to review the menu (which is pretty expansive) we settled on what we wanted for dinner, yet still no one came over. There was plenty of staff on, as one woman server was standing in the kitchen doorway holding up the threshold looking around... A gentleman server at the reception podium, and another wiping off a table. My wife and I made eye contact with each, yet still no one came to the table. The only acknowledgement to our presence was when we decided to get up and leave, at which point the male server at the reception podium told us our server will be with us. Too late at that point. We walked down a few doors to Mr. Chubby's and had a very good dinner of chicken wings. The restaurant wasn't very busy, maybe 5 or 6 tables occupied both sides of the restaurant. Plenty of empty tables and a decent amount of staff on. I guess our money...
Read moreI chose this place because it was recommended by the hotel I was staying in and because they had Jalapeño Margaritas. Was I surprised when it turned out to be some of the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had! Not just in Florida, but all over the world, including Mexico. It started with the traditional chips and salsa, and I have to say the fresh made salsa was so flavorful that I wanted to eat it with a spoon. Is it bad form to drink right from the salsa bowl? Because that's what I would've been happy to do! Then I had the Jalisco Nachos and a Jalapeño Margarita. Too be honest the Margarita could've been spicier, but the Jalisco Nachos were out of this world!! The veggies and chicken beef and shrimp blew me away with every bite. Seriously. To top this amazing culinary delight off, I had friendly and excellent service from Josmar, who made me feel like part of the family. I would rate Cinco de Mayo with 6 stars if I could. Try it--I bet...
Read moreMusic, deafening. Waiter/tress. None existant. I finished my drink before my food got there and it never got refilled. Was never asked how the food was, which was fine. Food was pretty good say for the cheese dip that had no taste. I tried to get the attention of the staff twice to signal we needed some help, but it went unnoticed, or they didnt care. It be as not busy at all. But we were stuck I'm the back of the restaurant under a loud speaker which was on full blast for a good 2 minutes. Before turned down to, what we could describe as a jet engine volume. We almost left but the only saving grace was the main dishes we got were excellent. Will we return? Maybe not. First time going here as we been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the area. Music and attentiveness of staff really is all I can really complain about. Writing this, I was going to do a solid two stars, but the food was not bad. So I'll...
