Went there for dinner after graduation because every where was long waits, closed or issues with computers. We arrived and were told it would be 30 mins before we could get food, we were fine with that. We sat and given the late night menu as we arrived at around 11 pm. Once again we were fine with that. Nice young lady took our drink order. Mostly soft drinks and 2 adult beverages. Soft drinks arrived and we waited for the adult beverages. After about 10 mins the wife wondered if they forgot about her drink. I got up and asked the waitress and she informed me that the bar had to make it. So I went to the bar to inquire about the drinks. One bar tender was there and did not even say anything to me as I stood at the bar. Mind you there were only 3 other people at the bar, she did have time to take a shot. She was by herself and I understand, however the other bar tender was singing karaoke. While I watched the bar tender behind the bar sing along I saw our waitress go and talk with the bar tender. I went back to my seat. We tried to talk in the group but the karaoke was way to loud and followed by those trying to sing while yelling the words. I got back up after the song and talked to the karaoke queen about our drinks. She finally made the 2 drinks and we were good. Mind you 15 mins later and no new customers. The food came, wings were good, pretzel bites, 50/50 as the wife had good ones, our guest was dripping in butter and had to have the plate swapped out. So late night menu food was fair. Service way below standards. I was informed that the owner was doing karaoke or some part of it. Would never know of it was a manager or owner because no one had the presence of being manager like. The waitress was apologizing and I do feel bad as she just does what she can and had to wait on others. The bill was inexpensive but due to a limited menu due to our time to come in before closing. As we paid the bill and left (yes a tip for the waitress - not entirely her fault) the party seemed to bleed out to the parking lot with Cornhole and music. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. If this being my first time coming to Dicks Wings was this experience, I do not see coming back. I know that this was just before closing but it was the only place we could find. I hope that during the peak hours service and food are better, as we would have been better to get some fast food and eat in the car. I am not...
Read moreMy girlfriend was going to leave a review last night, but she was so appalled by the quality of this restaurant she no longer wanted to waste her time with it. Here I am though!
The only good thing about this restaurant is the lady that greeted us at the front desk... GIVE HER A RAISE ASAP. After our initial interaction with her, everything went down like a mudslide. First of all, the booths are designed to get you in and out because they are SO uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we couldn't get out of their quick enough because we sat there for 15 minutes to order drinks, 50 minutes for a salad and an hour for our actual meals. What was the excuse you may ask? "Sorry our kitchen is currently swamped". Swamped with what? There was a total of 6 tables filled.
Detailed review of food
I got the garlic parmesan wings with mild heat. For a restaurant named after their wings, these were an absolute embarrassment. $1.50 per wing and out of the 10 wings you gave me, four of the wings looked like they forget to feed them the entirety of their lives. When I say you could literally nibble at this wing and the meat would be gone, I MEAN IT. $1.50 per wing??? I better get wings that look like they've been injected with a secret serum causing them to look like bodybuilders. Garlic parmesan wings? I couldn't even tell. Just seemed like mild wings.
Chicken quesadilla- Honestly, the quesadilla was very good, but unfortunately we didn't both order it. A little greasy, but it's bar food so what can you expect?
Salad- Can't mess that up, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Closing comments- If you are here for anything other than wanting to be dissapointed, I would run FAR away. Don't get...
Read moreNo one ever came to our table at any point. We waited and waited and the servers, which i thought were off work, were actually sitting at an adjacent table talking and counting tips. Eventually, another lady walking past smiled at us and when she walked back towards the servers she asked them who was suppose to be serving out table? One of them said I am, but she never budged to remotely move or get up to even greet us. Now, mind you, it was about 5:30pm and maybe 3 groups of people in the restaurant, INCLUDING our table. After waiting 3 more minutes thinking maybe she didn't see us, we left. The hostess asked us why we were leaving and we told her that no one came to our table. All she could say is "Oh, I'm sure it will be a few more minutes". Like, really? They aren't doing anything, she could have at least asked what we wanted to drink and introduced herself. We left and went to Longhorns Steakhouse instead, got fully serviced, with drinks, bread, AND OUR FOOD in the same time that we were simply waiting for service at Dicks. We decided to call back to tell a manager, and instead of giving me one, the hostess, which was the same hostess that sat us, asked when I was there and my name, then told me that the manager was in a meeting and will remain in one for another 1-2 hours. I've worked in a restaurant and there wouldn't be meetings lasting that long during the dinner rush at any restaurant. Very...
