Duck Donuts — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I have been ordering online from this Duck Donuts for almost a year now. I first tried Duck Donuts in Kitty Hawk, NC... these are the most delicious donuts around. However, today I ordered from Jacksonville, FL Duck Donuts and I was a little disappointed. When I went to pick them up, they were busy but it looked like there were only 2 people working at the time, which was just after noon. I did see a couple of other people there but they were not helping out in the front. I needed to pick up my donuts and wanted to buy a coke that I forgot to put on my order. I stood in line for at least 4-5 minutes mainly because the lady in front of me ordered an iced coffee and it took a while for the person taking the orders to get more cups and then make the iced coffee. Once I paid for my coke, I got my donuts and went home. I didn't check my order, I have never had a reason to because I usually don't have a problem. When I got home and was going to eat my donuts, I found out that they didn't make one of the donuts correctly. I had asked for yellow cake and they gave me chocolate cake. I just want to say that you need to train your employees in customer service. I understand that the others who were there and not working out front may have been doing something else, but when you have a back up at ordering and/or making the donuts, it should be all hands on deck for your customers waiting for or to give their orders. I have to say that I normally have a good experience whenever I order from Jacksonville Duck Donuts but this is the first time that I have been there when it was so busy. Duck Donuts gives you the opportunity to make any donut you can imagine. Chocolate frosting with a dusting of powdered sugar, no problem. Want something odd like maple frosting with Lucky Charms and marshmallow drizzle, let 'er rip! This store isn't a very common shop nation wide but it's extremely popular no matter where it's at. The Jacksonville site being the newest (opened yesterday, 7 March 2020) has made it a hot commodity, so unless you're coming in off hours, be ready for a line. Worry not, though, it's ample time to figure out what you're going to get. Sadly the location doesn't have a list of toppings posted that's easily read (it's on a TV high up in small print) so you almost need to know what's available ahead of time. Once you've ordered there's a small, but great to watch wait time. You then get to see your donuts get made a la Chipotle or Krispy Kreme. There's even a small step for the little ones to enjoy as well. Be sure to use caution when you get your donuts, too, as they'll be extremely hot, but that just gives you time to get to your destination. There are tables here if that's more your flavor, but I would give it time to settle down as it's extremely crowded at the moment.

First of all the donuts are absolutely delicious and have a hint of vanilla in the flavor of the cake like donuts. Every flavor selection is delicious. We live a bit of a drive away so we did purchase two dozen when we were there and did get about 8 to 9 different selections and everyone of them were delicious our favorite being the maple bacon but the pH and the blueberry with crumbs were absolutely divine as well and the caramel flavoring is so good as a drizzle. What impressed me the most is when I called the employees were so friendly and I was trying to place an order online and she took it over the phone with such kindness and was so helpful and even gave selections. They were fresh and ready promptly and they were warm when we receive them and they gave instructions for how to reheat and though we froze some of them when we defrosted and reheated they were as good as new. It is so hard anymore to find good customer service and we were so impressed by duck donuts and we hope that they always continue providing these delicious donuts with fantastic service as we like to support businesses that actually appreciate their customers not to mention have...
