I’ve been looking forward to trying this spot ever since they opened, so I finally stopped by during my lunch break! I ordered 3 fish tacos, while my partner had 3 Rey tacos, and we both got Mexican colas. Our total came to $44, which felt a bit steep for a quick lunch.

That said, the fish tacos were absolutely delicious—the flavors were fresh, and the tortillas were especially tasty and clearly made with care. On the other hand, the Rey tacos fell short for us; they lacked flavor and were overpowered by the cheese, leaving the rest of the ingredients lost.

The ambiance was lovely—calm, aesthetically pleasing, and the decorative fans added a nice touch to the space. The wait staff were attentive and friendly, which we appreciated. However, the staff member who took our order felt a bit cold, especially since it was our first time visiting. A warm welcome or some menu suggestions would’ve made a big difference.

Overall, this place has its strengths and weaknesses. The atmosphere and fish tacos make it worth checking out, but we felt the pricing and inconsistent flavor profiles could use improvement. Still, it might just depend on what you order, so I’d say give it a try and see what you think for yourself!

✅ Tip: If you go, I’d recommend starting with the fish tacos. Still...

Just discovered this immaculate, warm and friendly new restaurant in Bartram Park. The staff was amazing. All young people with an incredible work ethic. The young man, Marlon, who took our breakfast order was very helpful and especially knowledgeable of all the menu items. He was so incredibly professional and showed pride in his work and took his responsibilities seriously. When he wasn’t taking orders, he was cleaning tables or checking on us. Another young man was vacuuming the floor mats and another was cleaning windows. We met the owner, Jose, a wonderfully engaging gentleman who was very proud to share his Mexican heritage and their innate ability to welcome people with a sense of community and joy. Jose is training up a new generation to have pride in what they do, and to strive for the highest quality of service. The food was delicious (shout out to the gluten-free CORN pancakes) and the COFFEE (de la holla) was sweet and flavored with cinnamon. Everything about Raices was special. They provided a real family feel despite the fairly large size dining room. I checked out the bathroom out of curiosity — it too was SPARKLING! We will be returning often. I highly recommend this...

Despite being on time for pick up, and living a one minute drive away, my take out order was luke warm & my fried fish was soggy.

my friend tried fish tacos & rey taco, while i tried fish tacos and al pastor taco. The fish taco was so disappointing but not horrible. The flavor was not there. Rey taco was also bland and lack luster, with only the smallest thinnest slice of red onion on it…. ? The Al pastor taco was yummy! but it had little meat and only one big chunk of pineapple. we also did not get a single lime for our tacos 😐 it seems very… stingy honestly.

we tried the queso with chorizo and it was just ok… it was also barely warm. i really expected more from it. i’ve definitely had way better.

To me, as latina this was not worth the price. but as a latina who was craving tacos … i guess it did the job. But i’m just gonna save money and go to a taco truck next time 👍 if i go back i hope they...

I am blown away- Another reviewer said it’s perfectly, it’s like boho meets Miami. Staff were so friendly. The food was delicious. We had the burrito Leon and Bowl de La Casa. Fresh and vibrant and served in clay bowls. Delicious- and so were the chips, salsa and guac. Again just really fresh. The salsa bar has whole peppers in it which was cool- the sauces are each unique. There’s an orange one with a kick and the flavor is on-point. But each one was great. The hanging lamps and woven piece on the wall were all commissioned (Young lady at the register gave me the background- super friendly) and created a high-end yet casual feel. Reasonably priced for the high quality. Also have a full bar. You can get Mexican Coke in the glass bottle. We had been here when it was Tijuana flats and this is a surprising and WELCOME change:) And immaculately clean!

The birria tacos were absolutely incredible—hard to find in town! My kids loved the queso, and the frozen margarita was delicious with a surprising kick. We ordered a steak burrito ($10) and chicken taco ($8) for the kids, with fries (crispy and perfect) and black beans and rice as sides. Prices felt reasonable. The space, formerly Tijuana Flats, is now modern and inviting, with TVs at the bar. Staff was friendly, especially the bartender who helped clean up my 5-year-old’s spilled water (no lids on the kids’ cups from the freestyle machine—would love kids’ cups with lids!). Suggestion: consider bussing tables. The plates are nice, not disposable, and it’s a hassle to carry them to the bin. Overall, an awesome spot—we’ll be back!
