BURNT FOOD. DISGUSTING SERVICE! Hopes were high considering we finally got a server who was fun and engaging unlike the 3 times before where it felt like we were an inconvenience but once the drinks were ordered we were constantly bombarded with inpatience despite the restaurant being empty. We ordered very expensive items since it was our Sunday lunch and when the food arrived the lo mein tasted like it had been cooked on a burnt wok or other cooking surface. When we asked very nicely for them to remake it the lo mein came out the same smokey way two more times. We were paying $25 per filet mignon & lobster hibachi plate and we liked the meat but the noodles we're ruining the dish. The table next to us was about 9 asian people who seemed to work at/own the restaurant. They basically told us the food tasted fine to them and turned their noses up at our request for unburnt noodles. I tried to be cool and say we weren't enjoying our food or experience despite our fun male server but it was all downhill from there. Not only did we end up paying $80 bc they couldn't understand that I was saying we didn't enjoy our food but we couldn't take any of it home bc everything tasted burnt. I wanted to like this place and talked my family into going with me but it is one of the worst dining experiences we have had in Jacksonville in two years of dining out once or twice a week. We shouldn't have paid for smokey disgusting food, we shouldn't have had to deal with the disgusting attitude we got from the young skinny female server or the entire table of employees telling us that OUR food tasted "fine" to THEM. I don't know what kind of establishment you want to spend your time and money but honestly this one isn't getting another cent from us. I'll drive farther to get better food and service. Decor... Not bad. Service... To be expected at a sushi restaurant where people barely speak English. Food... Not nearly good enough for the bad attitude received when nicely asked to remake burnt food. Not worth it in any way shape or form unless you simply can't find another sushi establishment. 2020 is NOT the time for restaurants to be putting out disgusting food AND...
Read moreLet’s just say yesterday I had the worst customer service experience ever! I had a pick up order and was also in a rush and told the lady this. I informed the lady I had two payment methods.. I wanted my card to be charged $9 and Apple Pay the remaining balance. So we go to the register where she charges my Apple Pay then to the other register where she charges my other card.. She was saying something but I couldn’t really understand what she was trying to say and she then walks away, so the other woman at the register gave me my receipt, asked me to sign, and asked if I wanted a copy I told her no and to have a good day and she tells me the same.. I get in my car and leave, as I’m getting home I realize I have a missed call and voicemail from the restaurant. So I listen to the voicemail thinking they forgot to give me something and the voicemail says “This is calling from Fancy Sushi you didn’t pay your food you just run away what happened wat wrong with you” So I’m confused because the lady at the register gave me my receipt and didn’t say anything when I told Her to have a good day and was leaving apparently she didn’t understand what the lady was saying and they speak the same language. So I checked my card and came to the conclusion the dummy can’t take simple instructions because the dummy charged both cards $9… so I didn’t run away without paying for my food she made a mistake and tried to then blame me for not paying when my remaining balance was $9, so what am I running from paying $9? I had no problem paying for my food Yall need to teach y’all’s servers to listen to customers and we wouldn’t have ran into this issue. Customer service is needed for this dump,...
Read moreThis is an update to my first review: This is my Sushi place to go now. The Sushi chefs are great and the owners are EXTREMELY accommodating, friendly, nice. I have gotten to the point that I have created my own Sushi rolls and the chefs know them by heart. My Soley Roll and My New Year's Roll are very good. Go ahead and ask for them. I also enjoy tasting the different labels of sake they have. The presentation is also great. Andy keeps getting more and more creative and Joaquin is right along him. The menu changes with new Sushi offerings often and they offer Blue Fin Tuna often as well. I am waiting for Andy and Joaquin to start getting creative with fruity rolls to give them that 5th star. All the ladies there take great care of you and keep an eye out for anything you might need. I can tell you that i really like the place, not just for the food, but for the friendship. Proof is that I spend WAY too much money there... and I love it. I still give my San Diego and Pa. experiences Top Honors, but I while I am home, iI eat sushi here and only here.
Decent sushi. Have eaten here twice as it is near my house. Could use a more imaginative menu, but the sushi is a la par with other establishments. Not the best I've ever had (San Diego and Pennsylvania have those honors), but definitively enjoyable. Small place. Clean and friendly. Will use it often. Offer larger sake than most so that's a plus. Have not tried the...
