āļø One Star, Absolutely Terrible Experience If I could give zero stars, I would. InCahoots is hands down the worst gay bar Iāve ever stepped foot in, unprofessional staff, shady billing practices, and power-tripping door guys who clearly have no idea how to treat paying customers.
First off, on Friday night, after last call, we stepped outside for maybe 30 seconds to look for a missing friend. I turned right back around to go through the same door we had just exited, only to be stopped by the door guy who acted like Iād committed a crime. Instead of simply letting me grab my friend 30 feet away and leave, he decided to lecture me on how to use the door, even though the entrance and exit are literally six inches apart. He insisted I exit completely and walk around the building just to re-enter the same room. When I explained I just needed to grab my friend and go, he called me incompetent and told me to ālearn how to listen.ā Well, sir. I have a masterās degree in hospitality management and tourism, and that is not how you handle customers. To top it off, he actually followed us outside acting like he was doing security for the president. Ridiculous.
If that wasnāt enough, the bartenders are just as bad. We spent close to $300 that night. The place was NOT that busy, and when I asked for an itemized receipt to see what we were being charged for, suddenly the receipt ādisappeared.ā The bartender claimed their receipt machine was from the 1980s and they couldnāt print another one. Complete lie. They just didnāt want us to see that they dumped everyone elseās drinks on our tab to close out their night. Somehow, three people apparently had 50 drinks, including 36 shots for the bar, which I never ordered. I personally had three drinks the entire night, but I was expected to just sign off on this mystery tab with no breakdown.
To make matters worse, when we left, after the card was already charged and paid for, some friends of the bar decided to follow us outside anyway. Sketchy, shady, and unprofessional.
Bottom line: the door guys are rude, the bartenders are shady with tabs, and they clearly think itās fine to take advantage of loyal paying customers. If you want to be overcharged, insulted, and treated like you donāt matter, by all means, go to InCahoots. Otherwise, spend your money somewhere else. Jacksonville has better places.
ššš Enjoy the second...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreY'all remember 2012? Ok great, because welcome to incahoots. I've been going for years. What was once hip and fun, is now out dated and just tired. If it wasn't one of the last gay friendly dance floors, it would've fizzled out years ago. From the disgusting flooded bathrooms, dark sketchy parking areas, over whelmed and lack of bartenders (guy at the front bar has the best service, speed, and pour by a mile), poor air circulation, outrageous price gouging on hip hop/urban night, and just lack of any amount of improvement, it's giving weak dive bar. Once the drag shows end I like to play "guess which cd is next" or freshen up my cupid shuffle skills. All the money Jacksonville residents has given this club over the years and to not reinvest it into the facility is a shame. With many of the historic clubs closed, Inca will definitely be the next as the bars all over improve. The Orlando scene is only a two hour drive away. You may be fooling the young ones into their first club experiences but those who have supported you over the years are no longer pleased. Inca has become merely a charity box to keep afloat for the cause. If you're going to purposely raise the prices for your hip hop/urban night, then hire JSO officers to help out. Either be apart of the ENTIRE community as a role model or get out of the way for the hungrier entrepreneurs that want change. I know I'll be back when friends drag me out the house but just know that the "save our bar car wash" clock has been ticking, and I'm pretty sure someone is probably itching to put some condos up in your place. I'll be hoping for best not just for your business but for the younger crowd to have place to let loose and be free. The riots and protesting were for more meaning than a liquor license and some money. We can have...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePlace is pretty chill and is always decorated for the holidays. This place has 4 total bars, but 2 of them are almost always closed. 1 of which I have never seen open. Additionally, 2 pool tables.
At the time of this post. Friday's have a $5 cover for 21 and you can smoke inside.
It's definitely "dated" looking.
The DJ plays the same music every weekend and always from a Spotify Playlist and after the 11pm drag performance, starts playing line dancing music which is always our queue to leave. Would not mind seeing them add lasers and actual DJs to keep it fresh. At the very least, mix things up a bit.
With all the negative here, I would like to say that Ms. Kathy has always been nice and friendly. Only had 1 issue there over the years and when I reached out to the owner, the issue was rectified. Sadly, it's one of the few remaining lgbt...
