I have mixed drinks about my feelings. I went into this place with the highest excitement level. Drinks and plants, what could be more phenominal?!
The good: What a vibe. This place is simply stunning. They have a million plants to choose from, and it really does feel like you're having a cheeky bevy in a greenhouse. The drink menu was extensive, and there is something for everyone. I tried the cucumber spritz and the petal blossom. Both were to perfection, and the petal blossom is something I see myself coming back for. Valerie was an amazing bartender and overall cheerful human being. She was giving the experience you'd expect from this place. They're also debuting a food menu soon, and everything looks perfectly curated.
The bad: I really don't like leaving negative reviews or comments, but the other person working the coffee station was... less than pleasant. My friend and I sat at the bar for... at least 10 minutes, and we were ignored. To the point where the barista came to the register right in front of us and didn't speak to us or even look at us. No greeting, no "our bartender is on break and will be back soon" or "hello, how are you?" or "I'm sorry for your wait, but someone will be with you shortly." Like I said, she didn't even look up at us from the register which we were sitting right in front of. It was really off-putting. We thought we had to get up and go to the other register to order since we were the only ones sitting at the bar. Thankfully, Valerie came out and let us know we were in the right spot and took care of us! Maybe the barista was having a bad day, but it's really off-putting for a first-time customer to be blatantly ignored. Lastly, plant prices...
Read moreMy second time coming to the Greenhouse coffee shop and was very disappointed by the service. I ordered two iced drinks to go and received the first one after about 10 minutes. After another 10 minutes had passed, I still had not received the second drink in my order and noticed the barista was making drinks for people that came in after me. I asked the barista if she could look into my order and after looking through the orders, she said she must have lost my order but that she would make it now. Not a big deal at all. Mistakes happen. I was not upset in the least. She started to make my drink, but people kept coming up to the register to order drinks or buy merchandise. Every time, she stopped working on my drink to take the next order. After another 5 minutes or so of this, I went up and asked if she would be able to make my drink as I was in a hurry (I wasn’t expecting it to take 30 minutes to get a coffee to go and I had to be somewhere). She said she would do it after taking these people’s order (there were 3 of them). I said, “could you please make it before taking their order as I’m in a hurry and have been waiting a while now?” She looked appalled and annoyed that I asked, then argued with me and finally paused the order taking to make my drink. She made my drink and set it on the counter and walked away without saying a word. I said thank you, and although she was standing two feet away from me, she ignored me. Thirty minutes for a ten dollar drink that I tipped 18% on for which I received awful service. Although the atmosphere is great and the drink was good, I doubt I’ll be back due to that one...
Read moreThe Greenhouse Bar is a cozy haven that lives up to its name. As you walk in, you're greeted by a lush array of plants that create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
Ambiance: The interior is filled with greenery, making it feel like a true urban oasis. The vibe is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing coffee break or a casual hangout.
Offerings: In addition to their selection of coffees, The Greenhouse Bar has a variety of merchandise, including shirts and coffee mugs. While I only stopped by for a coffee, I noticed a charming bar setup that likely comes alive during late-night hours.
Facilities: The establishment is clean and offers a good amount of seating both inside and outside, catering to different preferences for socializing or enjoying some quiet time.
Parking: There is parking available around the back, but it's not the best and there isn't a lot of it available. Yes, that's Riverside for you. It can be a bit challenging to find a spot, especially during busy times.
Important Note: If you're biking to The Greenhouse Bar, be sure to lock up your bike. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way when my bike was stolen during a quick trip inside. A bike rack to lock bikes would be a nice addition to enhance security for cyclists.
Overall, The Greenhouse Bar is a delightful spot with a unique ambiance and a variety of offerings. Whether you're there for a morning coffee or an evening drink, it's a great place to unwind in the heart of Riverside.
