UPDATE! Not only did the owner respond here on Google he also reached out on Instagram to own , apologize and offer to make things right. I spoke with him directly he was very professional and gracious young man. He prepared 2 fresh oxtail plates and even had them delivered to me. Everything was delicious, it actually tasted even better than our first experience. Rice was good and cabbage was nice as well. We truly appreciate this type of customer service! He has gained a customer for life. Thank you Andre!
We ordered 2 oxtail plates via uber eats. We were so excited for our end of the week treat. We have had oxtails from this place a couple of weeks ago, they were very good. That time we went to the truck and ordered. We have also tried the curry , stew and jerk chicken as lunch specials. We also tried the jerk ribs . All were tasty. However today the oxtails were super tough and under cooked. They needed more time in the pressure cooker! They lacked flavor, there was no gravy. Simply say they are unavailable if they are not ready yet. Don't serve people mediocre food. Consistency is the key to a successful business. The rice and peas had a weird taste , almost like a medicine taste. We couldn't eat it. So that was $46 + uber fees and a $10 tip. We waisted $60 ! We will not...
Read moreFood truck that makes the best BBQ chicken ever! They call it Jerk Chicken. It taste like old school BBQ chicken that was cooked outside on a charcoal grill. I've searched for real charcoal brick cooked food for years. Secret.. there's a squeeze bottle of a red colored sauce just outside the service window to your left. It's self serve with to-go ramkins. Taste like that "hood" sauce your uncle used to make and then mopped the ribs with as he cooked. Kind of like the original Open Pit🔥🔥🔥. For your sides get the Rasta Pasta. Chile it's soooooo good! Taste like yo granny's Thanksgiving Mac & Cheese. Honestly, everything taste like homemade soul food. Next, try the cabbage. They must keep it hot on the grill because i could taste that yummy BBQ flavor. Seasoned to perfection with a hint of heat. Lastly, choose the rice & beans for your base. It's perfect.
I heard other folks ordering the oxtail dinner. Haven't tried them yet, but I will soon.
Don't forget the homemade banana pudding if you can snatch one. It was sold out on my last visit.
My large chicken dinner was under $23. It included 2 leg quarters on the bed of rice with 1 side. Definitely enough to feed 2 people. Cheaper than McDonald's.
Thank...
Read moreA friend of mines told me to try this place if I was looking for authentic Jamaican dishes close to me so I did. I got salmon that was bland almost absolutely no taste just a light smoked flavor, rice and peas that taste like it was cooked in a dirty pot, cabbage which was probably the best part, and a side of rasta pasta that I could have gone without. I tried this place last week so every time I ride pass it I get angry again which is why I'm leaving a review today. Instead of going to Spices I decided to opt for convivence and it was a complete inconvenience. Not to mention the the prices for the small portions. I had more of the dirty pot rice on my tray than anything. This place is a hard NO! Save your...
