La Nota â South Jacksonville âââââ
If youâre craving authentic Venezuelan flavors in South Jacksonville, La Nota is a must-visit family restaurant. Chef Flor, alongside sous chef Anais, delivers vibrant, comforting dishes that feel both homemade and refined, while Maruâs warm, attentive service ties the experience together beautifully.
The Sancocho Cruzadoâa rich, hearty soup blending chicken and beefâis easily the star of the menu. Itâs followed closely by the PatacĂłn, featuring soft, perfectly ripe plantains layered with melted cheese and, in this occasion, with pork, avocado and a wonderful and subtle garlic sauce. The PabellĂłn Criollo, Venezuelaâs national dish, comes generously served with shredded beef, black beans, rice (with an unexpected fried egg on top), and sweet plantainsâflavors that balance savory depth with a touch of sweetness. The Cachapa is a delight as well: a thick, slightly sweet corn pancake folded around fresh cheese. Pair any of these with the refreshing jugo de mora (blackberry juice) for the perfect finish.
And just when you think it canât get better, Christmas hallacas in July appear like the cherry on topâan unexpected, festive treat that turns an already great meal into a celebration.
While prices lean toward the higher side, the quality, authenticity, and generous portions make it worth every penny. La Nota is more than a mealâitâs a flavorful journey to Venezuela right in...
Read moreAbsolutely a hidden gem of a latin restaurant. This is some of the best latin food iâve had anywhere.
The place is very unsuspecting from he outside as itâs located in a plaza where it doesnât seem a restaurant should be. They offer takeout, but you can also sit down and order if youâd like. Their menu is expansive, with platos, arepas, sandwiches, and more.
I got a cuban which was delicious. The bread was grilled amazingly and the meat, mustard, and pickles all worked in tandem and made an amazing sandwich. It also comes with fries., which were surprisingly good and well cooked, alongside a salsa verde/ crema which was my favorite part.
I also got to try the nota arepa, which had egg, pulled pork, and cheese on it. Admittedly it was very oily, but it was absolutely delicious. Genuinely the best arepa iâve had, and dipping it / spreading the sauce in it with each bite sealed the deal.
I definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting great latin food. The wait staff is super king, caring, and most importantly - the...
Read moreThe food was standard, not amazing at all. We order the sancocho, the mondongo, cachapa with pernil and Special of the day the pollo guisado. We also bought some Venezuelan items that they sell over there, the worst part was I paid $160 and I didnât get a receipt. I asked for and when the waitress gave it to me, the receipt had item overpricing, some items were not showing the price on the menu or what show on shelfs. Always trying to take advantage of someone. That is not fair that is a dishonest service. Trying to robber the money of your clients.
Esta gente te engaña colocando precios es los estantes y cuando estås pagando en la caja l cajera coloca otro precios por encima de lo que muestran . Tratando de engañar a las personas y robar el dinero. Que deshonestidad...
