Lamai Thai Restaurant at Oakleaf Plantation Center — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I have never made a review before but the service is so terrible. Placed a to-go order 40 minutes before the restaurant closed. I was told to pick it up at 7:45 PM. My husband gets there and the door is locked. The employees are looking at him as he knocks to pick up my order at 7:47 and they never open the door. They just keep looking at him and never address him. I call them and their phone line is closed for the night. The food is good but not that good to be treated with such disrespect. The employees could have at least gone to the door to see what he wanted or tell their customer, the kitchen is closed. Then I get a call saying my order is ready at 8:19 PM. While on the phone call, the employee must have realized that my husband was the person who was picking up the order and said “Oh the door is heavy”. No, it was locked!!! Simply going to see what he wanted would have resolved the issue. If you see a customer at the door knocking, at least you can address them as a human being. With inflation so high, I’m not spending my money at an establishment that doesn’t even care to...

The appetizer was great. The chicken pad Thai was horrible. As soon as it was served the aroma was that of dog/ cat food. I took one bite and couldnt consume the bite. I almost threw up and had to spit it out in a napkin. The waitress also never asked if we wanted anything else to drink other than the water. Horrible experience never going back again and not recommending this place to anyone. The waitress also said if I like spicy to add a lot of pepper to the chicken pad Thai but that wouldn't of even covered the horrible taste and smell of dog cat food. Zero stars. This place was awful. My girlfriend ordered the pad Thai with chicken and it smelled like canned cat food. The fresh basil roll was nicely presented so we thought we found a nice place for date night but quickly found out we were wrong. Every dish afterward was poorly portioned, tasted awful and was not prepared properly whatsoever. Also our servers were laughing and yelling the entire time between the front and back (there were no more than 10 people in the "restaurant" so sound was not an issue).
