Called 45 minutes before to ask for a pizza to be picked up at 3:30 pm. The owner I believe is Mehmet Simsir of this establishment. I tried calling again because I was on my way and was running 9 minutes behind, but the phone kept ringing. The older man called me back and asked if I was still coming, I told him yes that I was at the next traffic light. As entering into the restaurant, I walked up to the register and told the young girl that I called in order about an hour earlier. She collected my credit card for payment. I stood there for a few minutes and asked where was the pizza because I had called them much earlier, the pizza was starting to be made... After 10 minutes, I was told the pizza will be ready in 2 minutes. As I waited, the young girl at the register walked over to the pizza boxes and pulled one down from the top of the oven, then opened it and placed her hand inside the box. Now she came from the register, did not wash her hands then placed her hand inside the box...... I asked her in a kind manner if she would please replace the box because she did not wash her hands. The older man came over very hostile and verbally abusive and asked if I was with DoorDash, I told him no, that I am a paying customer. Then the older man said if I was perfect and that I should go to Papa Johns or go home to cook. As a profession that I am, I asked for my money back in a calm manner and walked out with the older man still screaming at me. I left to look for another pizza restaurant. I ended up at My Life Pizza across the road in the shopping center with Home Depot in Oak Leaf. The owner Mike was professional and I was observing him while he washed his hands every time he was attending to a customer. Also, one of the pizza boxes fell and Mike the owner told his waitress to discard the box because it fell to the floor. I don't like making a fuss but because of the pandemic that we are in and not to mention that I have an auto-immune disease that I need to take every precaution to be safe. I truly believe in supporting our local businesses, but not in a manner that causes people's lives. Please be careful with this location.... Avoid it if you want...
Read moreWe moved to Jax from a small city who’s Italian restaurants were unrivaled. We started looking for a great, small Italian restaurant that wasn’t owned and operated by a large conglomerate. We ordered several items through DoorDash through this establishment. As my Husband started cutting through his calzone, he found a human hair. He cut further in and found more hair. The hair was BAKED into the calzone. We called the restaurant and a girl who spoke broken English didn’t understand when I told her there was hair in the food. She thought we were talking about sausage not being in the calzone. When I asked to speak to a Manager, she said he was “in the bathroom” and asked if she could place me on Hold for less than a minute. When she came back to the phone, he was yelling to her what to say and she offered me restaurant credit and offered to remake the item. There was no apology and no responsibility assumed for ruining our dinner. He continued to yell at her what to say and when I asked to speak with him directly, she asked and he refused to come to the phone. I terminated the call immediately and contacted DoorDash to report the issue and demand a refund. Had I not ordered through DoorDash, there would have been no way for me to get a resolution on this issue. We will never be ordering from this restaurant EVER AGAIN and we will be telling anyone who will listen about...
Read moreThis was place was just so so for us. Ordered 2 chicken Alfredo pasta dinners. Ordered by phone. We went to tell the guy on the phone something we didn’t want in the side salad and he acted like he wasn’t sure if we got salads or not. Their website specifically says under the pasta dishes category that you get a salad and bread with a pasta dinner. When we picked up, we did not get salad and bread with our dinners. That rubbed us the wrong way. Then we order the meat calzone and asked for extra ricotta cheese. There was absolutely zero ricotta in it at all, not even a hint of it. Ordered a plain cheese pizza for my teenage son, he liked it. The chicken Alfredo dinners were good. But between them not giving us the salad and bread with our dinners which they advertised online and messing up the calzone, I can’t say we would never ever go back again, we probably will give them another shot at some point since they’re very close to us, but we are in no rush at all. Maybe 6 months, a year from now we try it again.
Online is so powerful. Your menu online is a big representation of your business. You should deliver what you’re advertising.that’s the biggest thing, the calzone, we chalk that up to human error....
