Really good Chinese food and fast. I always order ahead and then pick up to take home, they always get my order right.
Edited- (2 yrs after 1st review above) ordered again 07/09~ I haven’t ordered at Wok N Roll for awhile because Thai Basil was closer to my house. Yesterday Thai Basil was closed so I ordered here. Here is my honest review which I hope can in some way help the restaurant get better as well- I ordered- Sweet N Sour Chicken Dinner- the chicken was large chunks, like 2-3 times as big as they should be, kind of hard texture, for taste I give them a 6 out of 10. The Fried rice was terrible, fried rice is a staple of Chinese food and it was first of all, yellow? It had gross pieces of chicken in it two or three Peas and very very dry and unflavorful, it didn’t seem fried at all. Crab Rangoon- I give it a 5 out of 10, the outside was decent but the inside was just not up to par, it was dry inside, maybe the ingredients were old or low quality Boneless Spare Ribs Dinner- These should be small strips, barbecued edges. These were very fatty, wide pieces and so much fat they just weren’t edible. Some pieces were just hard and dry, the sauce wasn’t that good. I give these a 3 out of 10 Egg Rolls- I will say that the egg roll was probably the best thing. They were pretty good and I liked the cabbage was delicious and the roll part tasted very good. 8 out of 10 Pork Lo Mein- this was decent, the pork in it was probably at least 30 percent fat, but the noodles and veggies were very good. 7 out of 10
Overall, I was disappointed, it was more expensive than Thai Basil and the quality was much lower.
To the store- you have a prime location there, you could be doing so much better. Use better ingredients, take more pride in each and every order…. This is just my 2 cents, take it or leave it, but as a customer, I was very disappointed. Sorry but I think you...
Read moreThere isn't much for Chinese food in Oakleaf, and this one is about as good as any other you've walked into on a random day. But it is just a little cheaper than Panda Express across the street, and no where near the wait time either. It's not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not great either. Coming home from a bad day at work, knowing there is nothing in the kitchen, this place at least gets it done. Yellow rice tossed in a wok is your 'fried rice'. Most dishes we have to ask for a little extra spicy as they come out kinda bland. Egg rolls are pretty good. The fortune cookies are always stale, we just throw them out now. They will try to charge you extra for sweet and sour sauce so keep that in mind, it doesn't come with the rangoons apparently (which are passable). The family has a pretty good work ethic, even though you can tell that a struggling business is wearing on them. I believe the owner of this location also owns the one on Wells where the Food...
Read moreMeh... I would consider going back if I couldn't otherwise kick a Chinese food craving. I got a lunch order of the sesame chicken with chicken fried rice and a side of fried dumplings. The first dumpling I ate was pretty decent but the second one I cut in to was bright pink, suggesting it wasn't cooked through. Being pregnant I stopped eating them. The rice was again just ok, I'm not a fan of yellow fried rice and the chicken in it was unbelievably dry and didn't taste good but not awful. The sesame chicken actually tasted good but it was drowning in thick sesame sauce and it was just too much. Plus, the lunch portions are crammed in a bowl with the rice so the sauce was overwhelming and just got all over everything (good with garlic sauces...not good with a thick orange sesame sauce.) I will probably try other Chinese places before returning here but maybe I will try something different next time and it will be better...something with white...
