I’m all for authenticity where Mexican is involved, but after looking at the reviews and giving this place a chance, I am super disappointed. The presentation was amazing!! However, I did not eat my food, the menu price was 8.99 - receipt 9.50. I ordered what I thought to be white queso- it was fresh out the can orange, not white queso- menu price 4.95/ receipt 5.00. Just very strange to say the least. My food unfortunately had what they call “queso” all on it… and further covered in Parmesan 🫣and because the queso appetizer came after my food, I was unable to change my order. As I explained to the waiter that though the prices were not unreasonable, the food was not what I was expecting… he rolled his eyes. I told him I did not need any further help, I will pay the whole bill and write a review.

My kids both enjoyed there’s, we left the “queso” on the table along with my whole meal. They are also under a new name… but haven’t changed it here. The murals are beautiful too!

The reviews I read are so great it makes me second guess my experience, but the whole eye roll ruined it.

Written after reading other reviews:

So after reading ALL the reviews: It has been known the prices do not match and the restaurant has addressed it below, but blame it on the banks. The responses to the reviews are incredibly rude and unprofessional. Probably why they have changed their name but not updated the business.

They are stealing when they offer something at a price and charge more money. They are obligated to tell you what you are being charged for.

I also paid in cash and...

Coming from a Mexican girl herself, this is THE BEST Mexican restaurant I have found in all of Jax. Everything I have tried has been so authentic and delicious. The tamales are BOMB , their el pastor is marinated perfectly, their burritos are huge and yummy and their rice is cooked JUST like it's supposed to be, IF you know you know! Not to mention the staff is so incredibly kind and fun! I am consistently greeted with smiles, good conversation, and good laughs. Not to mention, They're always quick to get your food out, even when I've had bigger groups, they are on point! Finally, I'd like to point out the ambiance in the restaurant is unlike any other in Jax. The owners worked so hard to make their space beautiful and unique. I watched their restaurant transform over a few months, they had an artist paint the entirety of their restaurant in an Aztec theme that depicts a little story. Best part of it all is when you order yourself a margarita they will turn off the main lights and they will have a black light illuminate the paintings in the restaurant. This place is worth the hype, bring all your friends and family, they have something for everyone! P.s. to my Mexican peeps, if you're feeling home sick, this is a wonderful place to visit and get a little...

This was a pleasant experience. Our first time here. We stopped as there was a bad storm approaching during 5 o'clock traffic hour, and we thought why not have dinner while we wait it out. Menu seemed very nice, but we went ahead and ordered our go-to food. While we waited we got the nachos and salsa. The nachos were not good. Salsa was lacking a lot of flavor and chunkiness. Food came out quickly. And that was much better. We got the veg fajitas. It was cooked just the way we wanted it. Kudos on them! Next time we are on this side of town we will definitely check out some of their other menu items. Some things that could change. There was some tvs here that had different stuff on it. One had a good channel showing random street food around the world, made us crave some Indian food while we were here. No bueno. Another TV was on a scenic view and that was a loop. We weren't there that long but I feel like they could do something better than that to improve the atmosphere. We did not visit the restroom, so I can't tell you...

Authentic Mexican cuisine served in a clean well appointed atmosphere. This was my first visit to Mi Casa and I will definitely be back. I had the Combo pick 2 for 10.99 with a Chicken Enchilada and a Guacamole Tostado served with refried beans and yellow rice and it was excellent. Bridget had the Ranchero with extra bell peppers and she loved hers. We also had a side of queso . The service was quick and on point. Our waitress was pleasant and checked on us multiple times😀 We had water to drink, passed on dessert and our bill was $35. plus’s tip I liked it.

One of my favorite places to get Mexican cuisine. I haven't had a dish here that wasn't full of the culture's flavor. One of the many dishes I recommend would be the Papas Guanajuato. It is your choice deliciously seasoned chicken, steak or shrimp (or you can order all 3) on top of fries with queso, sour cream and guacamole, very delicious 😋. The plate across in the photo is their Barria Tacos con queso which is also very delicious.
