Monkey's Uncle Tavern — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I went to monkeys uncle now several times after bad experience and wanted to give it a try but tonight was my last time. I brought my brother there from Germany 51 years old,we were sitting outside and he got served alcohol..then when he needed to use the restroom they denied him access to inside because of no ID,ridiculous never felt so embarrassed in my whole life. Then he ordered another drink 20 min before closing and 5 min later they took his glas with the full drink away and said we are closing now!!! Very unprofessional. And tonight again brought my little dog he barked one time and directly a waiter came and said if he barks one more time yall gotta leave. Then 2 waitresses came every 5 asking if wminutes together to our table asking for if we want to drink something it was annoying. If I want another drink I come to the bar and let u know Last time...

This is my local regular. The owner Micky is very present, the bar, wait, and door staff are friendly, attentive, and good at their jobs. The food is always excellent even if it does take a few more minutes than it should sometimes, absolutely worth the wait. Live music most nights, and I haven't seen a crappy band yet. Atmosphere is what you'd expect from a neighborhood bar, but it's clean, well lit, and maintained. Three pool tables, two electronic flip dart boards, a couple of bartop electronic games, and even a cigarette machine for those smokers who run out. Smoking is outside only, where there is ample seating.

Overall great local dive with a great crowd in the early afternoon. I would hang out more their but the food is overall poor quality. I would rate a five but read on. Second, I have been going there at least two months and the draft beer taps don't work since I have been heading there. Ok If I owned the bar I would be looking for a new service vendor to fix what should a simple issue( a plumber probably could jerry rig them it for a 100 bucks, I can get a few weeks but months even with all the logistics issues:) I own a business and change vendors routinely since most of them get lazy and care only for cash flow.
