My friend has raved for a year or so about how great this place is, how it is THE best taco truck. 🤷♀️ Maybe it was just bad timing or something but my husband and I accidentally found this place at around 6:30 on a Tuesday evening. It took a little while to get our food (20-30 minutes or so) but I'm completely fine with that because I know it is being prepared fresh. I got three tacos (chicken, steak, and shrimp) and they were just not great. They weren't hot by the time I drove the 5 minutes home to eat them and they were pretty soggy. I'm assuming they made mine first and it probably sat there awhile until my husband's was done. His fajita was really good though. It had chicken, steak, and shrimp on it and he was happy they gave him four tortillas instead of the normal three provided at other trucks we frequent. He had leftovers as well. I will say, we spent over $30 on the three tacos and fajita plate, which both came with some (frankly, stale) tortilla chips and "salsa" my husband referred to as tomato juice. At that point I'd really rather go sit down at a Mexican restaurant and pay $40 including tip. I'm going to have to visit this truck again before I form a full opinion. It's definitely worth it...
Read moreThis was the first time my boyfriend and I have been to Mr. Taco Truck. We drive by it all the time, but we’ve never actually ordered something until now. Tonight my bf ordered 3 shrimp tacos, and I had 3 tacos without meat (beans, lettuce, tomato etc.). My bf loved his shrimp tacos. I enjoyed my meatless tacos-lots of flavor! I like that it came with a fresh slice of lime, the added fresh lime juice paired great with all the flavors. I also like that the tacos came with a few chips (like 5) on the side, complimentary I guess, but better than nothing. I deducted one star, because of two reasons: the guy cooking seemed to only be wearing one glove, and the second reason, is because the location is non-welcoming and shady af. We went around 7 or 8pm & the parking lot the Taco Truck is in is just a lil’ sketchy looking, as in, I’d definitely NOT go to Mr. Taco Truck alone at dark by myself. (Probz wouldn’t recommend going alone if you’re a female, just cuz the location kinda sketches me out.) If they’d put up some cute “Christmas lights” around their truck at night, it’d make the world of a difference and it’d make their truck appear more welcoming and “inviting”....
Read moreI’m a taco truck connoisseur— I literally breathe street tacos. So.. consider my opinion. Mr. Taco Truck is always a go to. Their steak tacos are phenomenal. The salsa verde is on point and the red salsa is subtlety sweet. You get corn chips as a side— which is almost unheard of for a taco truck. Their service is fast, organized by a ticketing system... so it’s on you to get your glorious steak tacos, but the first bite makes up for it.. it’s a taco truck though, so whatever. Now to the nitty gritty— to why I am giving them 4 stars out of 5. The chicken in the chicken tacos were pretty dry, that combined with the flour tortillas (which are pretty good by the way) gave me a dry mouth, but not completely tasteless taco experience. Well, that’s all folks, short.. sweet, serious and comical. Remember if it moves... don’t eat it. (Disclaimer: I have not seen any food at Mr. Taco Truck move, I only said that as a joke— so don’t be a negative nell and try to use that against them). Thank you. I should’ve taken photos... I’ll do that next time.. sorry.. google...
