04/05/2023 Opening Day! First let me say they were super busy and despite the chaos the atmosphere was delightful, staff was friendly however, it's obvious they still have a bit to learn. The restaurant was clean and inviting and even sitting out in a middle table I didn't feel crowded or anxious despite it being fairly packed. Now let's talk about the food upon arrival they bring out bread it was very tasty. They should consider bringing some butter or dipping sauce of some kind just a thought. We ordered calamari as an appetizer it was not over chewy, had a good texture however, the breading was very Bland. We dipped it in the marinara and in alfredo sauce both of which were absolutely delicious. Both of my girls got alfredo their sauce was creamy and rich with flavor. The pasta had an amazing light fluffy texture it wasn't too dense and it wasn't too heavy nor was it soggy. Overall both dishes were excellent. I had the shrimp scampi it was very flavorful however, it was a tad bit spicy and I was not expecting that. On both shrimp dishes they took the time to take off the tails which I appreciated and the shrimp was not overcooked. As for desserts we had the cannoli, chocolate mousse, and New York cheesecake. They were all good my only complaint is that is not New York cheesecake! New York cheesecake is dense and thick and very rich this was light fluffy and sweet. Management/owners were very friendly and open to hearing what customers thought. Overall exceptional new restaurant and I will be a...
Read moreI've been wanting to go to Romas here in Jacksonville for a long time. We finally went and the food was really good! My server was really great as well, I didn't catch his name. I found a small piece of wood in my calzone, however I didn't make a big deal about it. I just wanted to let my waiter know about it. I think it was the manager that approached me later and told me that they do use wooden spatulas to remove the calzone and that they were checking it out but they didn't find anything missing from their wooden spatulas. Truthfully that made me feel as if I made it up... Just a heads up to Romas next time maybe be more compassionate to the customer rather than making the customer feel as If they were in the wrong. The atmosphere was fine until a bunch of people crowded the bar area where our booth was located and it was very uncomfortable and hard to get out of the area to leave. Overall I know things happen and I'm not upset with the accident. The food was great and my waiter...

Roma’s is new to Jacksonville and if I’m correct, it is the only Italian restaurant in town…
With that said, I strongly recommend you come by and experience it! If you are traveling and passing through it will be worth the wait. However, my favorite Italian spot is over 2 hours away sooooo… I’m still looking for the “OMG THIS IS IT” replaced…
To Roma’s credit, the eggplant is very moist and not dried out, nicely cut in chewable thin slices (yesss), nothing is overly salted, and the desert is truly Italian, the cannoli is a must if you have never had the pleasure of eating one, the crust is unique to taste and I’m impressed… I was halfway done before I remembered to take a picture…
Now, the house dress… HARD PASS LOL, it tasted like a marinara with olive oil,and Italian herbs!!! I trust they will introduce an Italian alternative, at this point I am going to pack my Paul Newman dressing in my purse when I...
