I’ve tried the Spliffs downtown plenty of times and always a had a good experience. Went to Spliffs on Old St Augustine rd today 02/16/2025 with my dad and his friend, for his friend’s birthday lunch. They had been wanting to try this place for a while. The place is a fun environment with a pool table, darts, and foosball. My dad paid $127 with tip for 5 entrees and he left feeling ripped off . We waited almost 2 hours for our food and when it came out everything was cold. My dad didn’t eat his burger or Mac and cheese due to the burger being cold, and the Mac and cheese was also cold and dried out. My son didn’t eat his Mac and cheese entree for the same reason either. None of the tables in the place were getting their food at the same time. Most tables had people who had finished their plates with others in their party still waiting. They were short staffed with only 2 people working in the kitchen. The main cook was a bald, white man, with glasses and he was incredibly unprofessional and rude. He came out the kitchen a few times yelling about being on his own, and when he went to get a drink from the fountain machine snapped at some kids who were looking at him saying don’t look at me like it’s my fault. I felt bad for the bartender/ server. She was very nice and was doing her best. Overall would not go back to this location again.

We were greeted at the door with a pocket stand make-shift podium holding the menus that said - take one; put your order in at the register; and pick a seat. Specifically, we asked if we put in the appetizer would it come before the meals? Assured the appetizer would be first, it arrived with the meals. 😐 What you see as all 4 photos together with captions totals 75.28. Going through the Spliff's Gastropub training at the register, I was then advised, you can leave the tab open to add more later as an option. I was then given my number and advised how to install it on the table stand for food delivery. Then after tipping I took the three glasses liquid -full to my own table. šŸ˜• My entertainment was watching the couple behind me start their Spliff's training. They came in grabbed menus and took a seat. Took them a few minutes sitting at their table being ignored by staff to realize, this was a fast food pay-first place. They missed reading the instructions at the menu podium. The poor staff then had to stop and give them a remediation training. I guess we can't all get passing grades on our first visit. 🤐 šŸ™‰šŸ™ˆšŸ™Š

Tried out Spliff's Gastropub on Old St Augustine tonight. The four of us really enjoyed our drinks and meals. We had a Mio Sangria very tasty and well balanced, two different stouts and a sour. All the drinks were great and they have a fantastic selection of not only beer but cocktails as well which is so nice as hubby loves beer and me not so much. We also tried the pretzel bites and the sausage cheese sauce was the star. The Loaded Chips were so yummy with goat cheese, candied bacon and balsamic. I could have just eaten a huge platter of those lol. We had the Rise and Bake burger, patty melt and the pork belly sandwich which was an awesome recommendation from the very attentive and welcoming bar tender. Everyone finished there plates because it was all so tasty. The fries were good as well and the Mac n cheese was good but with spiral noodles. I am more of an old school elbow noodle Mmac n cheese kind of girl. The pork belly sandwich had a delicious sweet homemade BBQ sauce šŸ˜‹ We will definitely be back.

Spliffs stands out as a vibrant hub of community and camaraderie, echoing the beloved atmosphere of the classic TV show "Cheers." Here, the warmth is palpable as staff greet each patron by name, creating a welcoming space where everyone indeed seems to know your name. This friendly environment is bolstered by an engaging interaction between patrons and staff, reminiscent of a local neighborhood gathering spot.

The beer selection at Spliffs is impressive, offering an expansive array of choices that cater to both casual beer drinkers and connoisseurs alike. From staple lagers to intriguing craft options, each beer is selected to enhance the dining experience and ensure there's something for every taste.

The food offerings are nothing short of incredible, blending classic pub fare with innovative culinary twists that keep patrons coming back for more. Each dish is crafted to complement the extensive beverage menu, making dining here a delight for the senses.

Additionally, Spliffs boasts a noteworthy selection of craft spirits. This carefully curated menu features everything from artisanal whiskeys to fine gins, providing the perfect accompaniment to the beer and food and enriching the overall gastronomic journey.

Overall, Spliffs is more than just a bar or a restaurant; it's a community cornerstone that marries great food and drink with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. It's the ideal place for those who appreciate the charm of a close-knit tavern where new friends are just a...

How can you eat food from a restaurant when the servers make you feel uncomfortable? How could I know for sure they wouldn’t spoil our meal? Interesting to read other complaints about the service; they’re spot on to what we had. Came in and everything was okay, wasn’t a full house by any stretch of the imagination, it was a Sunday evening around 730-8pm. We had our dog with us and chose to sit outside while we made our order. Long story short, after a 45 minute wait and an extremely rude and sarcastic server, we decided on a refund. He lied, assumed position as the shift manager, and refused to give me a refund. Finally he said he would, then avoided me completely and attended other customers who weren’t even asking for his services; meanwhile I’m waiting another half hour just to get someone else’s attention to let me leave with my refund, because the only option this guy was giving me was to eat the food. Imagine a jerk handing you food, would you feel comfortable eating it? So we lost at least an hour an a half, didn’t eat, dealt with bad attitudes, and they didn’t even give us a complete refund; the invoice didn’t include tax nor our tip. I contacted the restaurant directly as I have a copy of the invoice and don’t appreciate young men with big egos pretending to be someone with authority. Complete disrespect to people’s time, people’s money and emotions....

We waited a few weeks to let this location iron out the wrinkles but it still has the look of someone who slept at a bus terminal. We went at lunchtime on a weekend. Inside already had a worn out appearance and was sparsely furnished and dark even with lights on. The bartender greeted us and was pleasant but called another staff member to take our order. He was also friendly but as far as we could tell these were the only employees there. He took our order. We got our own soft drinks. One burger was ordered well done and no preference on the second. Half of each burger was fine but the other half was definitely uncooked although it was browned just on the outside. On the good side the fries were very good, looking like thin planks with seasoning and a generous serving. The bartender did come over and asked if we wanted a box so we didn’t need to go to the counter to get one. We ended up boxing up the burgers and cooking them at home. So overall, the atmosphere was dark and beat up, the two employees we interacted with were nice, and the fries were good. Whoever was on the grill that day was either careless, unqualified and/or indifferent. With all of the other burger places up Old St. A Rd. This place is really going to have to improve or convert to a bar only because it seems unlikely they can make it as a restaurant. It is unlikely we will...
