Mayday Ice Cream — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I love this place, but... They used to have Raja Honey and made it seasonal which made my wife super disappointed, and they made my favorite cookies bland waffle disks. Worse of all they have a new policy that doesn't let my wife get two different flavors in a pilot anymore. I'm not upset that they are negatively impacted by inflation, I get it... But by cheapening their product they are taking away the competitive edge that made them my favorite ice cream shop. Please go back to your fundamentals instead of putting out fires! I love Mayday and The Hippo and I want to see it grow. I don't mind the price going up, is still come, but losing my favorite cookies is definitely a huge deal breaker....

Update: They slightly bettered the waffle discs, but not by much. They also finally added splitting the single ball into two different flavors again. And somehow they made the flavors more flavorful which is both a good thing in the bad thing. But thank God, definitely steps in the right direction. I think I'd only switch back over to a five-star review if I could get my original...

My husband and I both ordered a pilot sized scoop from the Riverside location last Saturday. The girl behind the counter (who was very sweet) told us that management implemented a new policy stating that customers can no longer get two different flavors for a pilot sized scoop. We're ice cream aficionados, and Mayday is the first place we've come across that will not let you split flavors. It seems like an attempt at forcing customers to buy more ice cream than what they want. I like Mayday because I can get a variety of good ice cream flavors in a reasonable portion size. I understand that inflation is going up and everything is getting more expensive, but I'm getting the same amount of ice cream either way. I purchase ice cream from this location quite often, and the other day my craving for that buttery caramel ice cream, hit me like my pregnancy cravings with baby #5! I purchased a pint of the Queen Salted Caramel, and the lady behind the counter instructed me to pull an already made pint from the freezer. Upon opening it, after I returned home, my first thought was that it looked like vanilla flavor. After eating almost half of it, I wasn't tasting the same flavor of ice cream that I get when they scoop it out in the store. I drove back up there, and asked if she could replace it with freshly scooped ice cream, minus the part that I ate. And I provided my receipt. She told me that it's against store policy to do so.
