I love a good sushi date, and all you can eat is even better! I would like to put out a few thing about this place tho in hopes their management will see this and make some improvements. GREAT: Food was delicious. Flavors really popped and melted in your mouth Server returned to our table frequently to make sure we didn’t need anything and to take our next order (we got the all you can eat). She also always had a pleasant attitude and a smile on her face. (When you walk in) the place seems very spacious and has a clean atmosphere. BAD: As we had the all you can eat, we used a decent amount of dishes. Not once were any of the empty dishes removed from our table in the hour that we were there. And if you look around, it was the same situation for every other table even the empty ones. There was dirty dishes everywhere. The sushi bar in particular was covered with no one sitting there and food being prepped on the other side of the glass. This definitely affected my opinion of the place and made me not want to return. The bathroom is towards the back of the building. When walking there I noticed that they use the back of their dining area as a storage area. It was completely out in the open and completely disorganized. It looked like a disaster. It was very unappealing to the eyes. My husband suggested that they are newer to the area and may still be working out the kinks, but there are reviews dating back to over a year. They have had plenty of time to work out these kinks. The women’s bathroom was upsetting from the moment I walked into it. There was toilet paper all over the floor, dust caked on the top of the stalls, there was only one working stall, the other was labeled out of service. The general feel of that bathroom was similar to that of a run down gas station. I would personally prefer to hold it in than use their bathroom. While the food tasted fantastic, the presentation wasn’t there. The sushi had very sloppy cuts, were in general tiny, so we had to order more, we’re stuffed with some of the cheaper ingredients like the crunch topping and cucumber, and lacking in the meats section. What meat you do get in them were both super small and cut super thin.
Overall experience was not great. This place has the potential and space to be great, but the effort just isn’t there. I will be returning in a month or two to see if this changes at all and I will post pictures with...
Read moreUnfortunately, quality has declined significantly. It’s inevitable given they still charge $25 for dinner all-you-can-eat in today’s economy. At this point they have obviously moved from quality to quantity. Can blame them if they are still making a profit. Given the average customer, they will likely sell more at this price with mediocre quality than at a higher price with better quality.
Most of the pictures you see in reviews below are 1 year plus old; consequently, I added a couple from my meal today (6/7/24). Zoom to the nigiri and note the amount of fish. It’s razor thin! The rice balls were supper dry, as though they were premade before rush hours. Behind the nigiri is one of their three sushi appetizers. The other two, not shown, are a joke. One (tsuki bowl) is a single piece of sushi the size of a gum ball. The other (yellowtail jalapeño) is four slices of yellowtail, each smaller and thinner than a Listerine breath strip. The one on this picture, a new option, is huge! But it’s a veggie, a jalapeño. In their appetizers they set expectations for the rest of the menu, supper scant amounts of fish, with oversized pieces of veggies. Zoom to the plate with the rolls I ordered to see some examples.
Similarly, the kids meal. I ordered chicken nuggets (3 pieces) and fries for $6. A McDonalds 4pc chicken McNuggets Happy Meal in Jacksonville still goes for $4.69 (6 pc $5.49). Happy Meal includes a drink, a toy, and McDonald’s fries!
So, will I go again, unlikely. For $60 I can get enough sushi to satisfy me and my wife at a sushi restaurant where is made to order and of much better quality. However, for young service members flying solo, eating for five, and not concerned with quality, this remains the place to go. At least until they go to Japan, try real sushi, and realize quality is way more satisfying than...
Read moreFirst time visit to restaurant.
Had to wait @5 minutes or so before we saw a host and another couple of minutes to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant.
Fairly large space with bar on far end of restaurant.
I opted for all you can eat sushi, wife opted to order what she could eat...teriyaki shrimp plate.
Lunch time visit, there were maybe 4 tables occupied @noon.
I picked one each of Nigiri from menu and a spicy tuna roll.
Slow to serve my sushi, wife got her Teriyaki shrimp and nearly finished it before my "not-so-spicy" tuna, I could only taste the rice🤔 and had to ask for tray and wasabi for soy sauce.
Too another 5 minutes of so to get my nigiri sushi, so tiny with 90% of it was rice and tiny slices of fish.
When I finished them, in few minutes, mind you with that tiny serving sizes, I had to wait for waitress, order my next batch and wait another 10 minutes before I got the nigiri and NO rolls.
Finished the nigiri before waitress came to check on me. I asked her where is the rolls I asked for in the 2nd order form... couple of minutes later, I got served.
Overall, wife had to sit across me, watch me eat and wait for me to get done eating, another 20 minutes AFTER she was done eating.
By the time we got done, we spent nearly 1.5 hours there.
Total cost came out to be @$43 with 2 diet drinks.
Not bad price wise. As for service, terribly slow for all you can eat, too much time sitting around waiting to be served what I ordered...upon arrivale, there were 5-6 prepping sushi, so I can't understand what took so long to make my order.
Atmosphere was bad, sushi counter workers playing music way too loud, we would've preferred no music at all.
We "might" revisit, to see if it was just a bad timing after opening or that's how they operate no matter when...
