Love food lion! Great atmosphere. The stsff is always super friendly and helpful. The meat department is always running a good sale not mention the grocery side does too. In the summer the offer great deals on ice cream. I recommend buying their store brand its inexpensive and delicious. We actually prefer it over other name brands. We never have to wait long in line even when its busy. Foid lion is on top of their game. I prefer to go here when i dont feel like fighting the walmart crowd. They havent lost that down home neighborly feel and i really appreciate that. Oh and not to mention they offee little carts for our little to shop as well. Overall we always have a goid experience when we shop at food lion and our kids do too. Im always delightfully surprised by the things i find on close out sales as well as tbeir weekly sales and they always have coupons. I shop at this store every month(461 Western Blvd Jacksonville NC) and the employees are normally friendly. But today this young cashier got a little too smart. I am a handicap senior and needed a riding cart in which none were available at the time. I was with my grandkids and she said "You can get in the cart and they can push you around" than she snickered. I didn't find that funny. I spoke with the manager Kimberly Hendrix. (Now this is why I shop at this store.)She did not hesitate to correct the young lady's attitude and gave me a $10 gift card. This was the first time something like this had happen to me at this store. I appreciated the immediate response and the affirmative action Ms. Hendrix took to rectify the situation. Worst place ever. Went to get my WIC and got everything I ALWAYS get and was told I couldn't get the yogurt I've always gotten on the voucher. I said politely ok then never mind I will get my WIC elsewhere and proceeded to grab my vouchers from her. That wasn't the issue. The issue came when the employee had the audacity to say "bet she's a trump support" under her breath as my daughter and I walked away. First of all, what does it matter who I supported?! Second, yes I am light skinned and LOOK white, but I assure you I am Hispanic. So for this employee to make this assumption just astounded me. I will NEVER be returning to this location.
