I have had a great experience at The Pc Exchange. I had them build me a computer from the ground up. They were able to advise me on which components to include from the mother board up. They were able to provide the needed software to accomplish my goals and they bring me up to speed on how to best use it.
My computer needs were very unique and they were able to do the needed research to come up with the best solution at a reasonable price.
When I have had questions on additional ways to use the computer they were able to quickly and clearly guide me.
Quality work with great follow up is now what I expect from a computer shop. I can say to anyone who is wondering which way to go with a computer question take the time to meet with real pro's who will make you a priority in their business.
Most of my contact at The Pc Exchange has been with Dean and Rich both have been very responsive and clear in their explanations. Thanks guys, Mike.
Update 18 Feb 2015
I just had some additional work done by the PC Exchange crew on one of my computers. I had them install Windows 7 on a tower I am already using another Operating System so now I can perform Windows only functions on the same tower. My tower is used in a diagnostic/testing function. I used PC Exchange for this because they know my needs and can do the installation and verify that the tower is working the way I need it to. This individualized attention to their customers needs is why I return to them.
Also I want to note that the Windows 7 installation included a COA(the license from Windows to use Windows 7) along with the disk used to install it.
I continued to be an enthusiastic supporter of Dean and his crew at the PC Exchange. Mike
Update: 08/27/2017 I continue to use the folks at Gadget Geeks, formally The PC Exchange. I like the personal service and knowledgeable staff who are willing to take the time to understand your problem or concen. I even prefer to go to Gaget Geeks for little things. Recently I stopped in a bought a new wireless mouse from them. Why? Because I had a question about possible interference from a mouse from a nearby computer in the same room. Thank you Dean and the rest of the folks at Gadget...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Keyboard Warriors, and I must say, it was an absolute nightmare. From start to finish, their service was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating.
First and foremost, let's talk about their exorbitant diagnostic fee. They claim that this fee includes cleaning and maintenance, but let me tell you, it's all a sham. Despite paying a ridiculous amount, they didn't even bother to clean any of the internal parts or replace the thermal gel even though they claimed they did. It was as if they simply pocketed the money and did the bare minimum, if anything at all.
What's even more infuriating is their refusal to waive the diagnostic fee, even if you only require a simple part installation. It's as if they're more interested in squeezing every penny out of their customers rather than providing quality service. I mean, seriously, who charges a diagnostic fee for a straightforward task like installing a new part? It's absolutely absurd!
But wait, it gets worse. When I needed a fan replacement, they informed me that it would take months because they couldn't get the part. Months! Are you kidding me? I took matters into my own hands and found the exact same fan on eBay for a fraction of the cost. And guess what? I replaced it myself without any issues whatsoever. It makes me wonder if Keyboard Warriors was just trying to delay the process to milk more money out of me.
To sum it up, Keyboard Warriors is hands down the worst place I have ever dealt with. Their deceptive diagnostic fee, lackluster service, and ridiculously long wait times for simple repairs are simply unacceptable. I will definitely be seeking a refund or contacting my credit card company to dispute the charges. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place...
Read moreThis was the most disappointing experience I could ever imagine from a small business. I walked in Saturday afternoon for an iPhone screen repair the owner checked to make sure he had some in stock and said that he did. He explained that they were really busy and I should come back at 6:00 pm and he would have my phone finished by 8:00 pm. I rearranged my schedule to do so. At 6:00 pm I went back to The PC Exchange where the owner now said he no longer had any in stock because there were people a head of me, then he said it was because people came in after me and it was a "first come first serve establishment." Then I said I was here first at noon today... Then he said you could have left the phone with me and paid a $50.00 fee...HOWEVER he did not mention this option when I came in earlier that day or I would have gladly accepted.
Even after admitting he misinformed me and he was wrong all he could muster as a defense was, "I dont know what to tell you" and "I'm not going to fix your phone at all". I am appalled by the clear lack of responsibility to apply customer care and resolution when the owner of a establishment fails to give accurate information and then does not try to fix something he did wrong.
All in all, I would not recommenced this place to anyone for an iphone repair. I worry about the quality of service when the owner is not aware of his own policies. And since I am a klutz and break things a lot he could have had some strong business from me not to mention I am the "GO TO" person on where to get...
