Small, family-run restauranr. Really nice and friendly people. The seafood is fried like a typical Texas seafood spot but the quality of seafood is really fresh, made-to-order, and delicious! It is not greasy so you can easily finish the whole plate!
The Fried Fish and Big Shrimp Plate is recommended! The crinkle fries were crispy and not oily. The fried pickles were a nice side dish. It’s crispy and not soggy like how others make it. Their sweet tea is really good for some reason. I got it half sweet and half unsweetened to get it abit less sweet and it was still good! Tastes homemade but I’m not sure if it is. They serve everything in styrofoam.
The place is older but they keep it clean and the food is good in this area of Texas. Great place to stop and eat if you ever find yourself...
Read moreWe live in Tyler but everytime we roll through Jacksonville we keep saying we're going to stop and eat here, well we finally did and I am so glad we did! We got the fried catfish and shrimp and it was delicious! I actually got popcorn shrimp with mine and honestly I expected the small shrimp to be hard but they weren't, it was all cooked perfectly and best of all there was no grease! Did I mention the prices can't be beat either? My husband got the daily special of 2 dish fillets and shrimp for $11 and I got the 1 fish cooler and popcorn shrimp for $10 both with a side of fries and it filled us up! Don't sleep on this place, it's a hidden little treasure and will be our go to place from now on when we pass through...
Read moreMy family and I were looking for a good place to eat on our way back from Arkansas and this place popped up when I did a Google search for places to eat in Jacksonville. I'll be honest, we were a bit judgemental when we pulled up and saw a tiny building sparsely populated with random Asian decorations, but after we received our food, we realized that we were wrong about this place. Large portions of hand battered catfish and insanely huge jumbo shrimp had us all quiet as we consumed every last bit on our paper plates. I've always been told to never judge a book by its cover, and this restaurant is a shining example of that. I would be more than willing to drive the 112 miles from where I live to...
