This location is an absolute dumpster fire. I grew up in south Texas and used to go to the original Whataburger location after getting out of school. So, I'm accustomed to the "Whataburger Wait", but it's never really an issue because the food would come out hot and fresh. I was pretty excited to see Whataburger in Florida and enjoy a tasty burger. But, just like any other successful franchise that comes here, Jacksonville will find a way to mess it up. I've been to two other locations in Jacksonville and have not had any issues other than a long wait. However, this location is a hot mess! I've been there about seven times, because it's in a convenient location after my kid's athletics are done. Five of those time we did curb side pickup and three of those times our orders were made incorrectly. The first one we ordered using the app and arrived about 5 minutes after our food was supposed to be ready. We pulled in, entered our parking space number and waited, and waited and waited. I decided to walk in to find out where our food was after waiting about 25 minutes. They hadn't even started making our food yet. So, we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to get everything prepared. I double checked the food and I'm glad that I did, because the order was wrong. All the while the manager (Jarvis) was aware of the issues we were having and said nothing to me at all. I believe this may have been the first week this location was open, so I'm sure the employees weren't quite up to speed yet. However, the manager not saying anything to me did not sit well.
The second of the three mishaps also had an extremely long wait for curbside. I would estimate about 20 minutes before I went inside to inquire. Apparently, our food was just sitting there waiting to be taken out to us and they had no idea we had arrived, even though we checked in using the app with our parking spot number. I let them know we had been waiting for 20 minutes and she said that she saw us pull into the parking spot, but didn't know we ordered anything. So now we had cold food and an incorrect drink order. No offer was made to remake our food.
The third and final time was today. We ordered our food for curbside pickup at 10:30am. The app said our order would be ready at 10:41am. We left our gym, ran an errand and pulled into parking spot 1 at 10:50am and checked in with the app. At 11:00am we still had not received our food and I was getting ready to go inside when very nice gentleman appeared with our food. Unfortunately, our drink order was incorrect. As I was getting out of my vehicle, another worker (she was very nice) saw me and asked if everything was ok. I told her the drink order was wrong, and she apologized and said she would get it fixed. I followed her inside and she verified what we needed and went to correct the mistake. All the while, Jarvis, the manager was standing there and said nothing. The lady brought the drinks and apologized again, and I took them to the car. Then I started handing the food out to the kids and checking the food order. All was good except for mine. I ordered a taquito piquante style with bacon and potato. I received, bacon, no potato and no piquante. All these are upcharges. I walked back inside and Jarvis, to my amazement saw me and asked what was wrong. I showed him on my receipt what was ordered and then what was given to me. He took the taquito, still not saying anything to me and took it to the kitchen, threw it in the trash and told the crew to make me another one with the correct ingredients. About 8 minutes later a fresh taquito was ready and Jarvis bagged it up and handed it to me and went back to tending to his business. No apology came from him. Just a dismissive attitude. I had a conversation with him, but it didn't go well and needless to say, I will never go back here again. Sad thing is, they still made my taquito incorrectly and left off the...
Read moreAight. Lemme start this off by saying, I love this place, the food is wonderful. but bro. your late night staff actually sucks, genuinely sucks. picture this, it's 2:30am on a saturday morning, and you think to yourself "DAMN i could really go for a CHOCOLATE milk shake" and you decide to attend this establishment via DRIVE THROUGH, and wait at the little antique speaker box thing, and hear "whataburger what can i get fo you" and you reply with "Hello! May I have 2 medium CHOCOLATE milkshakes please?" she reply's back with my exact order, and i believe we are satisfied. so i wait, i wait patiently in the tiny drive through, and finally, reach the window. she says "yo order?" i reply with the name on my order and hand her the money. she proceeds to grab my "receipt" and looks at it utterly baffled, and sheepishly hands me my change and receipt. I think all is well, wrong. I look and see " 1 20oz STRAWBERRY shake and 1 32oz STRAWBERRY shake" now im completely discombobulated on how someone can actually mistake "chocolate" for "strawberry" and i let one of the whataburger posse know of this mistake, he proceeded to yell for my cashiers attention, and like some other random sweet lady comes up and try's to make this situation better by asking if i would just like an extra shake, we exchanged sly looks of approval. and then, my cashier returns. handing me the correct flavor of shake after i had told her of her mishap, but as a large shake instead of a medium, which hey, im totally cool with. I graciously took my shakes and just showed her the receipt, and said "yeah you charged me for completely different shakes and I just wanted you to know that". tell me why i was met with pure attitude "yea i know i handed you the receipt 😒" like bro did i ask? I know you handed me my receipt, how else would i have had this interaction with you. come on. anyways, im now enjoying my perfectly crafted beverage, and writing this review because i feel like fast food workers need to be kept at a higher standard, like i get it, i worked in fast food for two years, yes it gets stressful, yes i hated dealing with complaining customers, but still it was MY JOB. you are getting paid for this, at least pretend...
Read moreManager needs a slap. It was coming through early in the morning about 5:30 and I was the only person in line and in the restaurant from what I could tell. Basically from the very beginning when speaking through the speaker to the manager who is working I dealt with nothing but attitude. First thing that happened was I explained to him that I had placed an online order and my name. Surprisingly he retorted I dealt with nothing but attitude. First thing that happened was I explained to him that I had placed an online order and my name. He snapped back at me saying but" why didn't you say that in the first place?" ..... keep in mind the only thing I had sent to him before this was Hi how are you doing give me just one moment please, as I had not yet finished the order on the app. So then I get to the window right away because there was no one in front or behind me still and he informed me that he did not have any unsweet tea. I asked him if he had sweet tea to which he said of course. I then pointed out much to his dissatisfaction that if he is able to make sweet tea then he has to be able to make unsweet tea as it's exact same thing except without the sugar. Again with the attitude he complained that we have ,"all types of drinks from Coke to Lemonade to Sweet Tea to whatever you want we just don't have any sweet tea the machine is down." At this point I just said I guess it's too much to ask for you to do your job is that what's going on right now? Restaurant is not even a year old and I've worked in many of them it never once has a tea machine which is essentially just a hot water spigot not worked. He then asked for me to pull forward so he could bring me my food which I refused on account that there was no one behind me. He said that he wasn't really going to argue with me and I said either way and put the car in park right there. The window closed in heat went grab my food handed it to the other employee was very kind and gave me my bag. This manager is the worst of the worst in really needs an attitude adjustment. Jay on the other hand is a fantastic employee and I appreciate...
