Our visit was a disappointment tonight. It wasn't overly busy but it took us 40 minutes just to get a soda. I ordered soup and an entree and after another 45 minutes I asked if my soup was coming out soon. The waitress brought out a huge bowl of noodles with a little liquid in it. I asked her about the noodles since the soup description did not mention noodles and I couldn't eat them. She said she was new and didn't know but would ask. She never did. I then asked the hostess and she said she was also new and not the person to ask. She did not offer to get anyone who could answer though. Our entrees came almost immediately after the so-called soup. The waitress never came back with the answer about the soup and never asked us if we wanted or needed anything else. I finally stopped another waitress going by and asked her about the "soup." She told me I had been served a noodle dish by the same name rather than soup and that the waitress had probably made a mistake since she was new. You'd think she would have realized I wouldn't order two entrees myself. She told me that they would adjust the bill since I had already paid by that time. I assumed they would credit me for the soup I never got. No, they only gave me the difference in price between the soup and the noodles. I pointed out that the little bit of liquid that came with the noodles was not exactly the large bowl of soup I ordered. She told me that the owner specifically said that because I had eaten the liquid that came with the noodles I had to pay for the soup. That's ridiculous. I had to ask three people if the item I ordered was correct because I knew it wasn't supposed to have noodles. The waitress never came back to check on us so there was no way to follow up with her. I don't think a customer should be expected to pay for something they tried to eat after having to ask three people if they were given the correct dish. They charged me $15 for essentially a bowl of noodles I did not order and did not eat. Really poor customer service. Tasty food, which is the reason this isn't a one-star review, but it's unlikely I would come back after that experience. It took us nearly 2 hours to be served and figure out the bill issue. Some tables had turned over more than once in that time. I'm really surprised that the owner just hid in the back and made the poor waitress, who wasn't even serving us and had just been flagged down by me, deliver the news that I was still being charged. I've already told a few people about this and no one can believe it. It was the most expensive meal I didn't...
Read moreVery poor customer service! We wanted to try something new for date night. Went there, didn't see a sign that said "wait to be seated", nobody was up front, stood there for a few minutes, finally saw someone at the bar. We were talking up towards the bar to ask if we seat ourselves, etc. We were stopped by a waiter (who saw us walk in but didn't say anything to us before), he asked if we were doing takeout. I said "no, we're attempting to dine in but we don't see anybody up front". While explaining this to him; he cuts me off and tells us to go back up front and he'll be with up. Went back up to the front, asks if we wanted a table that was up front or back towards the bar, we say by the bar. He seemed more irritated after that cause he had to clean that table, hands us menus while he's cleaning the table. During that, everyone in the restaurant was looking at us like we did something wrong.. I figured it's cause we were the only people in the restaurant wearing facemasks. Our experience was shot after that so we left. Before that though, my sweet, loving boyfriend wanted to be kind enough to let him know that we weren't going to eat there anymore. When we walked up to the bar to let him know, he ignored my boyfriend until I got irritated and called him over loud enough so he couldn't ignore us. My boyfriend told him we were leaving and even then, his horrible attitude and customer service was still unwelcoming. That was our first and more than likely our last time there.. They...

The flavor, freshness, and care in every dish were unmistakable. Like all well-crafted food, each plate is prepared with intention, and that care comes through in every bite. Be patient and supportive—especially on a busy night—the staff works hard, and the quality is absolutely worth it.
Chef and owner Beer clearly takes pride in every detail. The staff—Chantal, Fon, and Daylena—are outstanding: knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. They go above and beyond to make you feel cared for. They’re locals who support their families and bring real value to the community. Be sure to tip them well.
We were only in Janesville for the weekend and came two nights in a row, both times with friends. Everyone at our table was impressed. I highly recommend the Shrimp Bacon Wrap—crispy, savory, and perfectly balanced with a sweet plum sauce—and the Garlic Black Pepper Chicken, which had just the right kick and was beautifully presented with cucumber and tomato. The Panang Curry was another standout: creamy, rich, and deeply flavorful. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Restaurants like this should be cherished—not just for the incredible food but for the people who make it all happen. Thank you to everyone at Sandee’s for the wonderful meals and hospitality. We’ll be back anytime we’re in town. Just...
