Met friends at Warehouse318 on Friday coming up from FL. Having Celiac Disease therefore having to be gluten free, I found this restaurant very unwilling to help me find menu items that were gluten free. This is my chief complain and why I rated them overall as a 2. I was not very hungry due to a large lunch and only wanted a very little something. Asking waiter simple question in which sauce or rub would be gf triggered that blank stare of ignorance, although I immediately felt better when he said he would check w chef….till he came back and said they didn’t know for sure (meaning they didn’t know what gluten was or they were to lazy to check for ingredients) so they couldn’t say any were. From my 25 year knowledge base of being gf, I gambled on jerk rub- (rubs usually don’t add flour since it makes them gummy). I asked if green beans were fresh vs canned and ordered those. I don’t like mushy veggies. My Celiac Diseases is well controlled due to 25 years of strict compliance to that diet and I find it really insane that a chef (and wait staff) are not knowledgeable about food ingredients- there are many food allergies that can be deadly like nut, peanut, seafood etc and am grateful my reactions are not that severe. That being said, if you have any real food allergies etc I would recommend finding somewhere else to eat, or just going for a drink. The wings looked good but were tasteless and the green beans - if they weren’t canned must have sat in liquid all day- could have been baby food for a 7 month old, but on positive side were seasoned very nicely. A spicy margarita had a twirl of a jalapeño slice but zero spice. The service was ok at first-we arrived at 5; but by 545/6:00 went off the rails. It looked like my companions all had what looked like decent meals - salads, shrimp tacos, stuffed pork chops, prime rib. If you are gf, I’d say find somewhere else or just have a salad. Otherwise atmosphere was good in a nice...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS 🥰 This is just the most amazing place. We were traveling from Tuscaloosa, going back home to Guntersville and searched on Yelp for restaurants in Jasper. It was between this place or one other, but, the other restaurant wasn't open. As soon as we walked in, it felt warm, cozy and we felt very comfortable and at home. The server was excellent. I ordered the hamburger steak with okra and fries. The hamburger steak was cooked perfectly, the fries were amazing!!!! Tasted hand cut and battered, not frozen and the okra was fried to perfection. The gravy...... oh the gravy...... i could have ate it like a soup! My husband ordered the hamburger grilled cheese thingies that comes with bacon and a fries egg. Holy baby Jesus that thing was huge! He coueven finish it all! It's basically two grilled cheeses with a hamburger, bacon and egg in between the two!!! He also had fries. He said it was very good!!! My mother in law ordered the shrimp and grits with fresh veggies. I could tell she loved it before she even said anything. She said it was THE BEST meal she has had in a long time!! Oh!!!! And we had appetizers: Fried pickles and onion straws. They give you enough fried pickles for 4; it's a lot! They were both very good! I love that they don't salt the batter! So the pickles weren't too salty! The bathrooms were clean and prices were amazing! Literally nothing bad about this place! Except that it isn't closer to Guntersville. We...
Read moreAbout two months ago, a relative flew in from California to visit. We took him to 319 to eat as we’ve never been either (we’re from out of state also so we haven’t tried a lot in walker county/Jasper) and wanted to try. He flew back in a week and a half ago and flew back home yesterday. In between his two visits, we went to 319 6 times! I’ve tried the burgers and chicken and waffles (3 times bc they were so good!!) and my husband has had all of their steaks and my children tried the kids chicken tenders and grilled cheese plates, great grandfather tried the meatloaf, jumbo, burgers, steaks, soups, and sandwiches. I’d give this place ten stars if I could. Every waitress was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our twins are mentally disabled and our youngest is physically disabled. We were treated no different bc of their disabilities and unlike the rest of walker county, no weird look at all towards my children. My husband and I have decided to start going every weekend with the kids to try something new. This has been the only restaurant we’ve taken the kids to in a long time bc my son is severely claustrophobic and afraid of crowds. He was so comfortable here. The atmosphere is amazing. Oh!! Try the cheesecake!! We had it every single visit:) Thank you 319 for making my family feel like they were enjoying a sit down...
