I had an interview scheduled with this establishment that went well. I only wanted to work weekend lunches, which I had told the service manager “if it’s not worth hiring me because of my availability, I understand.” She replied with “as long as you promise to open up your availability in the future, we shouldn’t have any issues.” Great, got the job, so I put in my two weeks at the grocery store I was currently working at. They scheduled me for orientation the following Sunday at 2:00. When I showed up at 2:00 that Sunday, neither manager that I spoke to were there, so a shift lead told me to come in the next day, which was Labor Day. I called Chili’s up the morning of Labor Day to confirm and I show up at 2:00-2:30 the same day. They have me waiting for a bit and I finally get to fill out my wftc form amongst others. The following weekend, I was moving (they were aware of this) and the service manager said she was going to stay in touch to give me a start date. I managed to scrape up an extra weekend and the store I was working at because this was when I started to feel uneasy about the lack of communication. The weekend passes… then comes the following (NEXT) Sunday — still no call. I end up calling them after my last shift and the same service manager said she would reach out to me later. I asked her, “in case I don’t hear from you, should I just show up on Saturday?” She said specifically to come in the following Saturday at 10:30am, so that’s what I do. I show up at the back door, Saturday at 10:30am where they then have me waiting around inside for about 30-45 minutes and the GM comes to me and tells me to come back around 1:30-2:00. Mind you, I don’t drive, so all this rescheduling was making me feel guilty for my boyfriend. I show up at 1:30ish, where the GM then sits me down and tells me that the service manager had been trying to get in contact with me and leaving me messages/voicemails this whole time and that I was supposed to start the past Monday at 10:30am. I had already taken the time to unblock every 573 number in my phone. I was checking my email (including spam), voicemails, phone calls, and text messages EVERY DAY and I received NOTHING. She absolutely did not tell me to show up on Monday at 10:30, nor would I have agreed because regardless of availability, I take care of my daughter while my boyfriend works full time during the week. The GM then continues on to say that they’re actually not okay with my availability and then said “if you’re willing to open up your availability to three shifts, we can work with that.” It’s a HotSchedules thing, I understand. Mind you, I had already said that I could make that work at the interview. She then goes on to say that a situation like this has happened before. I’m biting my bottom lip as she’s talking because I didn’t want to cry. I SEE how understaffed they are and that’s why I wanted to work for them because understaffed = $$$. I’m an amazing waitress and bartender and any person I’ve worked with can vouch for me, so it’s their loss. The GM then asked me if I had already finished my two weeks, like um, YES? Because you said that I was hired… She then asked me where I wanted to go from there and I told her, “I think I’m okay…” because with ALL of this miscommunication, why would I want to work with these people? Some of the staff themselves are RUDE and there have been claims that the management is RACIST. I ended up calling corporate and leaving them a message and explained to them how management at Chilis did me SO BEYOND DIRTY and how I had NO JOB because of THEM. A woman then reached back out to me and told me the district manager of the Jefferson City location would give me a call within the next 24-48 hours and I’ve heard NOTHING. Disheartened and disappointed, I was left unemployed and crying. I’m now at an establishment where they appreciate my talent, skills, and ambition… oh, and I make great money. Chili’s will forever be filthy and...
Read moreReview 2025 A master-class in horrible service. This Chili's has a long history of bad service (see below for review from 2021) but in the past few months the service has been ok. Until today. I was meeting family for lunch and arrived 15 minutes late (around 12:15). Drinks were already at the table but no other food. The rest of my party had ordered appetizers and meals. When the apps arrived the waitress put them on the table and vanished before I could put in my order. About 10 minutes later she came back, I put in my order and drink refills were ordered. Around 12:45 the waitress stopped by and made the comment that she had forgotten to put in our order. Just after 1:00pm a manager came by and said that she was going to give us a discount because the system went down and they were having to put in our order again because when the system went down the cooks lost the orders too. One person in our party clarified with the manager that the order was never put in and the manager re-stated that the orders were put in but the system had lost them. We weren't asked to reorder so I don't know how they knew what to put in if the system had lost the order (or why the kitchen couldn't make the orders with the system down even though the server knew or order well enough to put it back in.) At this point one person in the party had to leave and asked a passing waitress to find our waitress so that they could cancel their order. That waitress asked a nearby waiter and both promptly disappeared. That person ended up leaving before the food was delivered. Around 1:30 the order for the person who had left was delivered to the table. Four refills were ordered. The waitress took one person's cup and was supposed to return to refill the rest. The group left at 1:45 without having any other food or drinks delivered to the table.
Review, 2021 Less than ten tables were seated in the whole restaurant and were told there would be a 20 minute wait. Most customers just left and went somewhere else. Would have thought that with so few customers the staffs attention and speed of service would have been better than usual if not top notch. Not really. Had to ask for silverware after the food arrived, had to ask the host for napkins and drinks ran empty. At one point asked for a refill and finished the last third of my meal before it came. Counted four staff in the section with three tables. Someone did deliver that refill which was wrong. Food was as it always has been. Location is a case study in how to alienate customers and...
Read moreNever again, unfortunately at this location! We ordered chips and salsa while we visited and waited for my son to arrive then order - 1st chips and salsa had such a thick layer of salt they weren't edible; 2nd basket soggy and stale. Our waitress, Christine was very nice and working very hard. Not wanting to complain about the nasty 2nd batch of chips, but thought we try a third, I hauled them off to the bathroom trash. As I passed the kitchen entrance...I saw a very thick layer of soapy water throughout the galley kitchen as my poor waitress was walking very carefully as not to fall down. I kept this to myself, because if I would have mentioned it to the rest of my party, they would have said, "We're out of here!" After I go back to my table after the chip disposal, the bartender takes a full bucket of soapy cleaner and pours it out on the bar floor....It reeked to high heaven and 2 out of 4 of us got an instant headache from the Fabuloso smell!!!! So...we kindly told our waitress we would be leaving without ordering and why. She suggested we talk to the manager who, did everything wrong, no apology, but defensive tactics as to why they start cleaning, and "Well, the bartender 'probably' shouldn't have started cleaning so soon." After her, defensive stance, I decided to point out what I had observed in the kitchen -- to which was 100% a safety hazard and to expect waitstaff to have to wade through that water was an accident waiting to happen. She disagreed with me and schooled me on why they have to wear slip resistant shoes!! I told her, actually, I'm well aware of OSHA standards.....and that is not acceptable. While mopping, floors are slick, signs are put out and there is hardly buckets of soapy water poured out WHILE THE WAIT STAFF IS COMING AND GOING WITH FOOD, BALANCING AND CARRYING TRAYS!!!!! No!! Well....it ended with the manager never apologizing, and I'm sure sorry for the waitstaff there and I hope that our waitress knew our early departure wasn't her fault! One serving of chips -- okay; 2nd batch of chips -- soggy and nasty - we'll try again and still try to eat and enjoy ourselves; push-us-out-the-door 45 minutes before closing with headache causing cleaner poured 10 feet away from us -- unacceptable; non-apologetic manager with poor people skills who doesn't look out for her employees -- will never go back and must-write zero...
