I am not one to eat sweets very often, especially not very exotic and foreign desserts that are usually eaten in places like Pakistan, but this has completely changed my perspective on Pakistani sweets. I tried what I think is called Gulaab Jamun, and even though it sounds like something you may never have had before, the taste is excellent and very familiar. These are hands down the yummiest, most perfectly made gulab jamuns I have ever eaten! Soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture with just the right amount of sweetness — not overpowering, but perfectly balanced. The syrup is fragrant and rich, and every bite feels like a little piece of dessert heaven. You can tell they are made with care and skill, because the texture is flawless inside and out.
