I had a cracked screen on my Galaxy Note 5G, so I couldn't see anything on my phone for a few days. I stay in Hyde Park, near U of C, so I assumed it wouldn't be too difficult to find someone in the area who could repair my screen, hopefully fast and wouldn't cost too much. After calling around and going to 3 different repair shops in Hyde Park, all of them said it would take at least 3 weeks to get the screen delivered and there was no guarantee on when it would arrive. Finally, the last shop recommended that I check out Tech 1.8, further up on the Northside. I gave them a call that Sunday afternoon, Sam told me to come by and that they're open until 9p (on a Sunday nonetheless!). Within 30 minutes of me getting there and giving Sam my phone, not only was my cracked screen replaced with a brand new one, but he also fixed the back of my phone, essentially giving me a new phone, all in less than 30min! The price was very reasonable and Sam was really professional! My screen broke and it went black. I use my phone for work everyday and needed to get it fixed fast. It was already late and I found this place online, it had great reviews and they were open until 10 pm. I gave them a call and at first I felt that maybe I should find somewhere else, I am so glad I didn't. Sam and Omar have been great. Since it was late I had to leave my phone so they could get the part in the morning. They fixed it for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately the screen went black again after a couple of days. I called and they asked me to bring it back in without making it seem like a hassle. I have my phone back and it works beautifully. I am so glad I found this shop.
