If you're on the hunt for a restaurant that not only offers exceptional service but also serves up the most heavenly pizza alongside a delightful selection of wines, look no further than Angelo's Wine Bar in Chicago! My recent dining experience here was an absolute revelation and deserves nothing less than five stars.
From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was welcomed by a warm and friendly staff who seemed genuinely passionate about their craft. The service was impeccable throughout the entire evening, with the staff striking the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving us space to enjoy our meal.
Now, let's talk about the pizza. Oh my goodness, I don't think words can do justice to the divine creations that came out of their kitchen. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with a thin, crispy crust that had just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings were fresh, vibrant, and abundant, making every slice a delightful surprise. The chef's mastery in creating such unique and delicious combinations truly impressed me.
To complement our pizza journey, we decided to indulge in some wine pairings. The restaurant boast an impressive wine list and we absolutely enjoyed our wines.
The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and cozy, making it the perfect place to unwind and savor the culinary delights on offer. Whether you're having a romantic dinner for two or a fun get-together with friends, this restaurant caters to every occasion.
It's not often that I come across a restaurant that ticks all the boxes, but Angelo's surpassed all expectations. The combination of outstanding service, mind-blowing pizza, and an exceptional wine selection make it a true gem in the heart of Chicago.
In conclusion, if you're a pizza lover and appreciate a dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary, I wholeheartedly recommend Angelo's Wine Bar. Prepare to be amazed by their culinary prowess and leave with a satisfied smile on your face. I know I'll be counting down the days until my next visit to this culinary paradise. Five stars are well-deserved, and I can't...
Read moreThis is our neighborhood restaurant and we are so lucky to have it as they are at Montrose close to Sacramento Avenue next to the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood and on the other side near Horner Park. This restaurant will surprise you in many ways as they are so professional everything from their menus to the drinks made at the bar That are special, the wine selection in the waiting staff is beyond professional! This is worth a trip if you live in other neighborhoods that are further away! I believe the owner and operator is the son of the old-time Angelo’s which was famous for classic Italian family style food and the Current owner and operator is innovative in terms of really amazing blow your mind creative pizzas and also regular pizzas for the kids and not so adventurous people who want standard sausage and peppers perhaps but beyond that he’s got amazing risotto and always different salads that are specials and way way more. It is worth the delivery or curbside pick up or he has built us a Normas tent in back and also has a great outdoor sidewalk café and the side of his restaurant opens up completely so very safe for social distancing and he is very Conscious of keeping everybody safe so in the fall and winter when it gets colder his plan will be safe and well thought out. My favorite pizza is one with figs and prosciutto and also there is a pizza I love that has is by request but he does a white pizza that is East Coast style with no red sauce but with ricotta cheese and mozzarella and spinach with lemon squeezed over the top which is amazing but the pizzas don’t and they’re they’re just extremely creative and then as normal as you want or your children want as well. Very family friendly and very...
Read moreThis place is amazing from top to bottom. Beautiful bar, table seating for couples and wrap around couches for larger parties. On our first visit, there was live music (jazz drums and sax) that complemented the atmosphere perfectly. After the live music, audio switched over to a playlist (no Touchtunes to leave you at the mercy of ad hoc patron DJs). There is also a wall of flatscreen TVs - but not sports; just black and white movies that work more like moving art than listless entertainment. The entire front in comprised of floor to ceiling, retractable windows that can be opened in fair weather.
Full table service or you can eat at the bar (the bar top is large, so the dining experience is the same as sitting at a table).
The wine selection is large and diverse, beautifully displayed in a glassed walk-in.
When you go, do not leave without ordering the pizza - easily some of the best in town. Crust is light and thin, but not brittle like most pies of the same category. The sauce is fresh and perfectly seasoned; the cheeses are high quality, melting without coagulating or over-oily. Again, this is a must. If you are looking for a good pizza pie and glass of wine (which the staff can help you pair), this...
