I wanted to give this place another shot after my last review from 11 months ago. I only had a bad experience with Bia’s customer service and food quality once. So I ate there again today. I placed an order for take out at 9:40, and was told to pick up my food in 20 minutes. I arrived about 10:10.

My food was okay, but I was truly disappointed as i left with my food at 10:45. I seen every customer, door dasher, uber eats driver, and other pickup orders that came after me, all get their food before myself.

as someone whose worked in the food industry for 5 years, I understand weekend/morning rushes behind the counter. but NOT one single employee asked what I was waiting on as I stood directly in their faces for 20 minutes before even asking about my food, totally confused. not to mention, every cook continued to stare at me getting more confused about why i was even standing there.

I finally asked the man running everything behind the counter today, and he went to find my order, that was yet to be made. he seemed very stressed but well composed, and apologized while handing me my bag at 10:45.

maybe Bia’s needs more hands in the behind the counter on weekends. i was just beyond shocked, not one employee even bothered to ask a PAID customer what they’re waiting on. nor updating a PAID customer about their food ticket that was lost, or giving me a proper explanation about what was going on with my order.

This place was really good at first, I loved going there but it has been a few times where they make mistakes with my order and I have to call them back or drive back because they question me and don’t believe it, no lie but they have make me a wrong order at least 6 times. I am a very patient and polite person and I don’t like to argue so I was always really nice about it even when it wasn’t my fault but the staff looked at me weird and they all had a smirk every time I had to go back to the point one time the cashier told me they do it on purpose so the cook can see me because he liked me… I felt so uncomfortable I stopped going for a while I had to send my husband or just go somewhere else, not to mention the lady also told me to buy me a bottle of mayo because they kept forgetting to add it to my sandwich. Another issue I have is that they never answer their phone!!! And when they do they rush you to say the order and once you get to the restaurant to pickup they make you wait in the line even though the order has been already placed. Everything is so unorganized and that is the reason why there is always chaos in that place. I am now going to the other location and so far I haven’t had an issue I hope it...

This is perhaps one of the oldest locations in the area that was a hot dog stand at one point in time. You might remember it as having a cubs sign on the building. They were there many years and shortly after the cubs won the pennant they closed their doors.

They were followed by a Cuban cafe which has some of the best sandwiches you will find in the area. The steak and especially the pork are really a delight.

They also have some nice deserts. I chose the three milk cake. It was indeed a treat.

They potential drawback that I thought might be addressed later, was the service. It really is more of an order what you like and then sit down as opposed to sitting down and then order.

There aren't a great deal of tables in which to sit and those that are there require you to sit on a chair that's like a bar stool. Not a bad thing but if you're handicapped then it could be a provlemto hop on the stool.

All in all though it was a good experience and the food was really good....

I love the steak sandwiches from here, they’re so good! I would definitely recommend as something to try for someone who hasn’t been here before. Empanadas are TINY, way smaller than a regular one and taste alright.. Definitely NOT worth it for the price and just overall taste. I would skip, save your money. Staff is okay here but they are VERY stingy with their sauce. If you order 2 sandwiches they will say one sauce packet per sandwich which is definitely not enough. Which I’m not sure why this is an issue since you are a paying customer? Sometimes they pour sauce into containers and sometimes they have sauce packets, very inconsistent but they do not like when you ask for more sauce. Need to work on their customer service.

Bia’s Café Marianao #2 Review If you’re looking for incredible value and authentic flavors, Bia’s Café Marianao #2 is a must-visit spot. Their empanadas, which I’d rate a solid 5.5/10, are a great deal at just $2.50. While not the best I’ve had, they’re satisfying and perfect for a quick bite. The real stars here are their sandwiches, which are packed with flavor and crafted with care, and the coffee, which is simply amazing. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or a midday pick-me-up, their café con leche is rich, bold, and sure to please. This café is a hidden gem for anyone seeking affordable, delicious comfort food. The unbeatable prices and consistently good coffee keep me coming back!
