I would give this a -5 star rating if I could to be honest! I have been eating at this restaurant for over 15 years and this is the first time I have had such a terrible experience! I came here to celebrate my anniversary and it was so disappointing for us!! I don’t know if its because they changed The Chef but the food was an utter disappointment!!! To Start Off The Waiter (Nestor) Barely paid any attention to us and although it started to get busy after a while we were one of the first to get there and he was serving us LAST Every time!! He would ignore us, we asked for napkins and more salsa and he would bring it 30 minutes later!!!!! We asked for 3 plates of the same Food & I Specifically Asked for them to be WELL DONE! Well turns out ALL OF OUR PLATES came raw and red when we cut through it, we sent the plates back and they cooked the SAME PIECE OF STEAK To the point where they BURNT IT and they took the pieces we had cut off out of the plate!!! And only a small piece of steak came back instead of the whole piece I originally sent to them!!! Yet We got charged for the full steak when they should have actually MADE US A WHOLE NEW PLATE WITH NEW STEAK AND NOT KEEP COOKING THE ONE THAT WE SENT BACK TO THEM!!! AND THEN BURN IT!!! Aside from that the Yuca And Platano Were Both BURNT disgustingly also!! It hurt our teeth and killed every appetite we had!!! We constantly had to ask the waitresses for things because our waiter was waiting on everyone else BUT Us including people who had just gotten their! Walked by us a million times and ignored us every time!! This was such a disappointing experience!!! He restaurant needs to do something about the new cook because every time i came here it was perfectly cooked and amazing customer service! But now it was the complete opposite and completely ruined...
Read moreI visited on a Friday, around 1 pm. There was plenty of on-street parking and not too far from the L station on the Brown line. I found the seating area about half full and all remaining tables cleaned and ready for their next occupants. The design of the seating area showcases the charcoal chicken rotisserie in the front window, and quaint village house fronts around the rest of the visible areas. This is much nicer than the same restaurant I visited (across the street) about 10 years ago. As for the food, I am familiar with many of the tradtional Colombian dishes offered, and chose the "Matrimonio", which is a mix of churrasco and pollo a la plancha. It comes with a potato, fried yuca, and plátano maduro (ripe plantain). Since I don't care for ripe plantain, I asked for tostones (fried green plantain) instead, and this was readily substituted. The food arrived quickly and correctly, and the portions were quite substantial. Best of all, it was absolutely delicious! They provided each entree with a souffle cup of chimichurri, which was well seasoned and provided a perfect foil to the rich beef and chicken, and even with the sides. They also provided a bottle of house-made "aji" or hot sauce upon request. It was barely hot "hot sauce", but I did not expect it to be overly spicy, as Colombian food tends to be less adventurous among other Latino styles. The bottom line is that I would highly recommend this location - there are several others in the city - and will be back on my next...
Read moreI truly love coming here and been here for many years I’m highly disappointed on the customer service I had on Saturday! I walk in it takes like 10 minutes for me to sit and that’s that I sat on my own this older gentleman called me over to a table at then end toward kitchen. I was with my boyfriend he hands us two menus and walks away. He comes back ask if we’re ready we order he walks away food was ready in fives mins chicken potatoes rice arepa. When we begun biting in it it was bit cold! Def can tell wasn’t fresh! However my review is not on that. It was my server attitude. Once he brought our food and drinks we didn’t see him again! W needed more napkins had to ask someone else. He walked by us many times didn’t ask if we needed anything or how was everything! We had to search for him to get our bill! He was attending to other people i didn’t understand! We find him he says I’ll be right over! Comes about five mins gives us receipts walks off to another table! Very cold vibe i was disappointed especially because i bragged about this place to my boyfriend and took him there and I was embarrassed on such attitude. I hate to even go there but because we seem cool with others and not us I wonder if it was due to me being a Latina with a Caucasian! Who knows I just wanted to share my experience i tipped him low and honestly I want him to be aware of my discomfort maybe down the road he can pretend a little bit...
