El Pollo Cris Cris — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

This place is average at best, but if you're hungry, plan ahead—wait times are absurdly long for a spot that specializes in one main dish: chicken. I stopped by last Sunday afternoon, and the place was nearly empty. Just one guy in the lobby and two tables with a total of three people dining in. I figured, with chicken being their thing, I’d be in and out in 15 minutes. Nope. My order took over 30 minutes to arrive. I got the 16-piece special with sides. The restaurant was dead, so I didn’t think to ask about wait times, and the staff didn’t mention it either. Another customer came in after me, ordered, and was told 15 minutes—but he also waited over half an hour. I noticed a few phone orders being picked up, which is fine, but if your whole deal is cooking chicken nonstop, you’d think they’d have a system to churn out orders faster. Compare that to Jimmy’s Hot Dogs, where hot dogs are ready in minutes, or Alfredo’s Carnitas, where carnitas don’t take half an hour. It’s not rocket science. I get the whole “order ahead next time” angle, but sometimes you’re just in the area, craving something quick, and make a spur-of-the-moment stop. Long waits kill that vibe. As for the food, the chicken was decent. The marinade gives it okay flavor—not too dry, not particularly juicy either. Heads-up: the pieces sitting in the tray’s juices at the end will be salty as heck. Service was subpar. Instead of opening new locations, they should focus on handling walk-ins, dine-in, phone, and online orders efficiently. The food’s alright but forgettable—nothing worth raving about.

Chicken is alright, but the marinade makes it salty if you let it sit too long in there so the last pieces in the tray are very salty. This location in particular is slow as others mentioned.

It takes too long to get your order and all they say is to order ahead next time. It was a spur of the moment, so sometimes you just want to walk in, but this place is not good for that, you'll end up waiting over half hour for chicken and they won't even tell you wait times.

Figured give this place a try given used to like the one in Little Village, but boy is this one different. Very bad service, long wait for chicken, hell I can get KFC quicker even when they run out lol.

I guess based on the other reviews, they rather block negative comments on socials so it looks like its only positive comments, very unprofessional.
