Kim’s Cooking gave me an unforgettable dining experience… in the worst possible way.
My meal came with a bottle water. I drank half, went to the restroom, came back… and voilà, it was gone. The owner didn’t apologize—she offered me a different half-finished bottle from the counter. I wish I were joking.
Apparently, she keeps a small museum of unfinished waters next to the register. For what purpose? Unknown. Emergency hydration? Ingredient sourcing? Random bottle lottery? We may never know.
I politely declined and asked for a new bottle. Her response? “you have to pay”. I asked why she threw my original one away. Her response? “It’s free, so I can throw it away.”
As for the price: the menu said $13.99, but I was charged $16.98. No tax line. No itemized receipt. Just a mysterious number and the sense that I accidentally tipped someone for insulting me.
If you enjoy food served with a side of confusion, passive aggression, and a bottle water possibly with someone else’s saliva, this might be your spot.

I arrived 40 minutes before closing, which I don't find to be disrespectful, it wasn't like it was four minutes before closing. I can easily order and eat within 40 minutes. There were five occupied tables, which is about half the restaurant. And a few of them were still waiting for food. The older man behind the counter made eye contact with me and my friend and then continued doing what he was doing. I assumed we should just seat ourselves which is what I find pretty common in these smaller restaurants. As soon as we were about to sit down at the table he said to us that the kitchen was closed. I said it was still early and he just laughed. Can't decide if I want to give this place...
Read moreWe walked in and saw a guy behind the counter. He just stared at us, not saying anything. We signaled "2" and he just pointed to the tables. After 5 minutes, he brought over 1 menu and 1 warm bottle of water to the table. After another 5 minutes, he came over and took our order. We got our food. Not once during our meal did he check in on us, ask if we needed anything, etc. We ordered the hot stone bibimbop and the egg was hard-boiled, rice was burnt, and only 3 pieces of bulgogi. When we finished, we sat there about 15 minutes, waiting.... They saw that we were finished, trying to get their attention, but ignored us. We finally had to go up to the register. Then they tried to charge us for "extra meat". 😒 Like seriously?? Horrible service, won't...
