I stopped in this morning for the veggie breakfast sandwich, a side of hash browns, plus a slice of the cake to-go, and while it was all delicious, the true star was the English muffin for the breakfast sandwich.
Now, I'm normally pretty ambivalent about English muffins. They remind me of diet food or bland things my dad eats. Typically I'd go for a breakfast sandwich on just about anything else-- biscuit, bagel, sourdough, focaccia, etc.-- so when I ordered this, I thought, "well, I guess an English muffin will be fine." I was wrong. So wrong.
This English muffin was everything I never knew an English muffin could be-- chewy with with some crunchy toasted edges, fluffy, flavorful, everything. I was getting full at the end, so I didn't plan to finish the whole sandwich, but I was not ready to give up any bit of that English muffin, so instead I dumped the sandwich contents and ate just the bread. Loaf Lounge has changed my entire outlook on English muffins.
This is my only request: Can I please start buying just these English muffins, like with the other pastries...
Read moreBreakfast @loaf_lounge was so worth getting up a little early and driving. We went to get the chocolate cake from “The Bear” - which is everything you want it to be. Riding the line of almost too deep chocolate flavor with moist fudge cake and lite filling with chocolate icing. We then also had to have pasties and breakfast sandwiches. The sausage breakfast sandwich is perfection. The sausage is just a bit spicy, the English muffin is the best I’ve ever had, and the American cheese is just the layer of fat you want on breakfast sandwich. I really like the addition of Mayo, but did want more herbs. The spicy capicola with fig jam is the little extra bougie we all want for breakfast. Just a bit fancy and decadent. The chocolate crinkle cookie was soft and just extra powdered sugar that it needs. There were so many pastries to pick from and all looked amazing. On top of all the great food the staff was kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable about...
Read moreIt’s kind of embarrassing how many bakeries I know of in Logan/Avondale, much less how much of a regular I am here. Excellent Iced Coffee and dreamy chocolate croissants would be the thing you’d put in a trap to catch me and this place has done just that. The sandwiches, specifically the BLT and veggie breakfast are fire, but let’s also talk about the bread, specifically the Jalapeño Cheddar, which is justifiably expensive bc of how big and flavorful it is. I would go to the ends of this earth for this bread. The English muffins are also big and fluffy, just the way I like them. 🤤
Folks will say this place is overhyped, but I honestly think they are the edgy naysayers saying that just to say it. 👺🤨
Also, the FOH employees are always kind and personable and make it a point to make you feel like a person and not a transaction. 💕
PS - It’s “expensive” bc it’s a small business and ingredients are seemingly fresh, not a Starbucks or...
