As you can see, food was excellent. Drinks were great, nice and strong. The only issue I had was the service. It started out okay when our waiter (terrible) let us change tables outside and brought out our water and menus. After that, downhill...we ordered our drinks and appetizers, empanadas & guacamole. The couple next to us came and sat about 10 min after we arrived and ordered enpanadas. Their waiter brought out their empanadas 5 minutes later while we dis not receive ours, only our guacamole. That waiter came back 1 a minute later and apologized for the error but our waiter NEVER came out again, just kept passing us by to attend a party of six and another couple sitting on the other side ( 4 tables outside btw). I hate to say it like this, but he seemed more preoccupied with the Caucasians than with us (Hispanics). He finally asked if we were ready, and we went ahead and ordered our food. Food came out in a timely manner but after that, out waiter NEVER came back around to asked if we were okay or if we wanted another drink. Remember, restaurants that serve liquor is where they make their money. My wife and I ordered $15 margaritas each while the patrons outside had just regular water or non alcoholic drinks but were being attended to with the utmost importance. I only saw great reviews on Tik tok but mind you, most of the reviews were not Hispanic customers. Very disappointing being that the we actually enjoyed the food and especially the drinks. I'm a big tipper, but this guy didn't deserve a good one and my tip reflected that on a $110 dinner. Also left a a note on the check so the manager can see our dissatisfaction. BUT, my wife and I spoke on the way home and said we actually would go back but hopefully can get another waiter next time and that is why...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I start... I came to eat here today because my mother in law saw it had great reviews on Facebook. What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! The place first draws you in with its cool hip decor and pictures of luchadors, loteria cards and spanish icons. Upon sitting down my husband ordered an agua de mango which in a place called tequila and tacos you think its gonna be real mango juice (aguas frescas) but it turned out to be a cup of Jumex. I then ordered a lemonade which again i thought would be fresh squeezed lemonade but no it was a can of minute maid (my fault for not asking). On to the food. I ordered the chicken enmoladas pretty much a tortilla taco with mole. The mole consistency was thin, watered down and salty but definitely better than the tacos. They use small cheap tortillas the tacos are tiny and the meat is tough. My mother in law ordered a rajitas taco which she didnt eat because it tasted weird and she told the waiter it had a strange taste. I thought he would offer her another taco but nope. He just said I'll let the cook know. Long story short save yourself money and get some tacos from your local Mexican grocery store. Dont believe the hype in this place. I can cook a better...

*Update March 2022
This place has become my new neighborhood go too over the years. Tacos are still the best in the whole city hands down. Empanadas are soooo good. Tamales and elote is my girlfriend's favorite items. Also splurging on the carne asada plates is definitely worth it soooo much food.
Drink wise they are priced like any other drink in Chicago. They look small at first but once you drink them you realize it's a lot!! And they are pretty strong. My favorites are the Pink Cadillac and the Mezcal Margarita. (Both are on the rocks I can't drink frozen margs due to health reason)
The Plantain Desert is super super good as well.
The service is out of this world as always. Every staff member is super kind and nice.
And they do have three tables outside. Closed on Mondays. Open for...
